No discharge, but rather potent, gross smell lately

I have never really had a problem with overbearing/ gross scents in my genital area but recently that's changed.  Although there is no discharge or discomfort or itching, the smell reminds me of either a REALLY salty ocean that has been sitting still for some time and is just emanating fumes...OR sometimes it smells like dead animals.  I know this sounds so weird...but otherwise everything is fine down there..and i've never smelled this way before...suggestions?

I was dumped before Christmas 2015 for the Internet, then on 1st February my 27 year old son was killed in a horrific car crash, I had slept with anyone since being dumped then after I donated my sons organs and laid his ashes to rest out to sea I slept with a male friend one night for comfort. I hadn't slept with a non circumcised male befor and ever since I have had a smelly *****, never had that before either, thanks

If you have bv douche does not help.  Maybe for a day but the smell comes right back.  Trust me when I had it I took like 1000 baths and the smell would be right there two seconds later.  Plus feminine wash will just cause other issues like a possible yeast infection.  You will need antibiotics for you and your partner.  This way you won't pass the infection back and forth.

You might want to consider what oceans3 said....it is not as uncommon as you would think...and it would for sure smell bad.

I so agree with above!! Hilarious!!  I went to the Dr. one time, complaining that my who-who smelled like dead birds.  He did a pelvic, ran a slide, and it was BV..bacterial vaginosis.  He gave me medicine...all gone.  It was simple, but there isn't a home remedy to be diagnosed.  Time to put in a call to the dr.

You should get checked for Chlamydia, it lies dormant and can have NO symptoms at all!! But the first one is usually a "smell" like you described. Some other symptoms are pain with and/or after intercourse and you can also have discharge in a full blown case. This is FULLY treatable!! It could also simply be a yeast infection, they also cause a "smell"
Good luck, Hope this helps God Bless

It sounds like bacterial vaginosis.  It gives off kind of a fishy or musty odor.  I notice that when I have it, my discharge is more thin and looks kind of milky.  But if I didn't have a smell and wasn't looking I wouldn't notice.  Go to the doctor you need to get antibiotics for this.

yes, see a dr. there is no feminine wash or any other hygine product that will get rid of it. only mask the odor for a bit.
