I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I've had a little lump thing on my bikini line for about 2 years now, doctors think it's like a cyst of the hair follicle and I've been put on endless different types of antibiotics and ointments, sometimes it goes away, but it always comes back, and it's very painful & sensitive to touch and often catches my underwear when walking & sleeping. So, having exhausted all other options, my doctor tried draining it first a couple of times, then cauterising it. This was just before lockdown, and it was supposed to take a couple of weeks to heal but after 2 months it was still bleeding on occasion and definitely not healed, very painful to touch, worse than before.
So in the end he decided to do a punch biopsy and just get the whole thing out. This was about 10 days ago, and again the wound is not healing. The problem is the location, it's just inside from the underwear line on one side, and underwear often catches it when I move. Had a wound dressing on it for the first few days until the stitch came out then I thought I would let it breath. Dressing the wound is really tricky because of the location, can only put microtape on my leg because I can't even shave the area right now, and so the dressing isn't very still either. I guess my question is what's the best method for quick healing of a wound down there? Should I try dressing it, should I go commando? I bought a whole week's worth of shorts underwear because I thought that would help by removing the underwear line but actually I think that's creating more friction to the area. I've started going commando at night and that's quite nice but can hardly do it all day, should I re dress it? There is nothing on the internet for wound care down there!!
Also any thoughts on why this lump has been so persistent appreciated.
