BV treatment

hi, i went to the doctors this week as i thought i had cystitis, but not i thing i have bacterial vaginosis. the doctor gave me sm antibiotics - 250mg cefalexin to be taken 4 times a day, i was wondering if anyone knows if this would treat the BV if i had it?

Oh my yes. At least give your Dr.'s office a call. Did you mention that your partner has chlamydia? The signs and symptoms are very similar. She may not have treated you because you didn't test positive for BV.

If you don't get treatment this could really affect your health. Please call ASAP, and good luck!

I got told I had BV by my doctor and she said because I didn't have any symptoms she wouldn't treat it now my partner has been he has chlamydia could these two things be linked? Do you think I should go back and get retested?

Drdra10 is right. When I had BV I was also treated with Flagyl.

I am currently undergoing treatment for BV with Flagyl.  I don't believe Cephalexin is used to treat BV.  All antibiotics treat different forms of bacteria.

What are your symptoms?  Do you have vaginal itching, burning, yellow/green discharge with odor?
