Hi there.  You really need to call your ob/gyn who delivered your baby.  You may have an infection that needs antibiotics.  Mastitis is very common when beast feeding.  It does require antibiotics!  It will not go away on its own.  You need to call your doctor as soon as possible so the infection doesn't worsen.  With antibiotics, it clears up quickly and many women can breast feed through treatment or pump during treatment.  Emptying the infected breast is really important. Start breast feeding on that side or pump.

But again, you should call a doctor today and seek treatment for this and they will advice you how to continue breastfeeding and what to do to get rid of the infection.  good luck

i have had the same thing happen to me, but out of both.  i also wonder if this is something i should worry about.  on top of that, both breasts are extremely tender, and not just during my monthly gift.  they always hurt.  i don't have a history of breast cancer in the family, but have been told they are fibrous.  i'm anxious to hear any answers to our questions.  good luck to you.
