Old nipple piercing suddenly has white discharge?

Hi, so in summer of 2016, I got my nipples pierced, and only kept them in for maybe 6-7 weeks, so they never even fully healed before I removed the bars. There is still some small amount of scar tissue, but today I noticed that one of them leaked some thick white fluid when I squeezed it. I thought that the wounds were completely healed, as it's been a couple of years now. What could cause this? Should I be concerned? Thanks
