Why am I having painful intercourse?

For the past 3 months I've been having very unusual discharge to the point where I am wearing pads because it's that bad. It's often a yellow colour and in addition to that it's started becoming very painful when having sex. It genuinely feels as though he is hitting something or like the other day we were only playing and it felt super painful when he did this in a certain position. I now feel this kind of pain in and off whether I'm walking/sitting and it can come and go whenever.

I have been to the doctors and been tested 3 times. At first they thought it was BV, but after I tested negative the second time they put me on another course of antibiotics for bv?
Any other suggestions would be really helpful as these antibiotics are doing nothing!

Hi, do you have hpv at all? I know usually they say it doesn’t cause symptoms but it’s also known to cause discharge, itching, pain, burning, discomfort. I’ve got high risk hpv and my vag burns and hurts everyday but my gyn said it’s not from hpv but I don’t have anything else so I think its from the hpv. Hpv effects everyone in diff ways. Some don’t get symptoms, some do. You should get a DNA test

Have you been tested for STDs? Have they talked about an ultrasound to look for an ovarian cyst or anything? What about being tested for a urinary tract infection?

Endometriosis can cause pain like you describe, but doesn't typically cause the discharge. Pelvic inflammatory disease may be a cause, which can be caused by untreated/uncured BV, as well as STDs. Sometimes they don't know the cause.

Keep following up with your doctor about this. If your doctor isn't working with you, find another. Maybe try a Planned Parenthood, who are really the best at women's health care.

I hope you feel better, and let us know how you are doing!

Hi - yes I've been tested for STD's, thrush, BV and a few others. They haven't talked about anything like an ultrasound or wanted a sample.

1st time I went to the doctors they did the tests but assumed it was bv so gave me antibiotics. 2nd time they just performed the tests again. 3rd time which was last week she did another internal examination to feel for any lumps/bumps etc and didn't think it was PID, but again just assumed the bv must still be there so put me on antibiotics again.

I did explain that it's particularly tender on front vagina wall whenever me and my partner are doing anything, but again this got me no further.

I will try planned parenthood next week as I don't feel like I'm getging anywhere with my doctors.

Thank you for your help - will keep this post updated once I've found out more!
I'm glad they've done all the testing, but it's disappointing that they haven't done more follow up.

Look up endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, and ovarian cysts and see if any of those seem to fit your symptoms. She likely would have felt a cyst, but it doesn't hurt to rule it out. Even with endometriosis, you could have one spot of it that causes pain, and not have it anywhere else, or have it in other places but it doesn't cause pain.

Let us know what happens!
