Why is my period irregular and how can I fix it?

At 29 my period stopped and after several tests and doctors visits I knew I wasn't pregnant. I went months without a period, after 3 months my doctor prescribed Provera to force a period. If I take birth control pills my period is as it should be, but I want another baby and there lies the dilemma. They checked my hormone levels and thyroid and both tests came back normal. I've had a few cysts on my ovaries here and there but nothing definitive that would diagnose PCOS.I had another test done recently to see if my fallopian tubes had any blokages, that test also came back  normal. Since the test I have had to where a pad everyday and go through anywhere between one and 2 per day. This has been going on over the last 2 months. The doctors don't have any answers and I'm desperate to have something of a clue of what's wrong.

That's frustrating especially when you are wanting to get pregnant.  It sounds like you've tried BC pills to try to kick start things and it didn't work.  Would your doc prescribe clomid for you to give you a better chance and then I guess you have to just have a lot of sex (every other day starting on day 10 of your cycle.  Why is it so much work sometimes to get pregnant?  Grr
