Is it JUST hormones or do you have clinical depression or anxiety?

A woman's health topic that I think many can relate to is the area of our hormones and how they can affect our mood.  I think you are lucky if they don't impact you as so many of us do have ups and downs to our moods.  Our hormones shift and fluctuate throughout our life and our mood often reacts.  I know I am victim to this. And sometimes it happens often enough I ask myself, is it the hormones or am I really depressed?  It's hard to tell sometimes.  What are your thoughts on this?
