37 days since last heavy abnormal period

Hello,
I had my last Period I guess I would say March 12, 2014 it was very light then only in the mornings for two days. Then a week later on March 17th I started again and this time it lasted for 3 days and the last day was very heavy and clotty. I had been taking Keflex as well for ten days starting the 11th of March as well. Now here it is the 24th of April and I still have not started my period. What do you think is wrong?

Thank you Bhupinder Kaur, MD. I eneded up starting my period the 27th of April. I have had unprotected sex, but have been with the same man for 5 years now. Well I guess that doesnt reallly make a difference now a days. lol. Anyhow I think it was due to stress, my Grandma was very ill and ended up passing away. So since I seen that stress could be a factor I totally think that is what caused my period to be abnormal.

My husband and I would like to be and are trying to get pregnant. Could you possibly give any pointers? :)

Thank you again for your time, it is much appreciated. I hope you had a great weekend.

Have a wonderful day!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
There are several reasons why a woman have delayed menstruation and this could be due to unhealthy diet, stress (emotional or physical), sudden weight gain or loss, caffeine, alcohol, and smoking. Gynecological conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and uterine cysts or polyps, can also bring about alteration in menstrual cycle. However, pregnancy is still the most common cause of delayed or missed period.

So if there is a history of any unprotected intercourse then pregnancy should be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
