New member looking for support

This is my first entry so I'm not sure what to write exactly,.. What brought me here was an app to track my sleep (or lack thereof) but I have multiple health issues it appears this site can offer support with. I've had 3 major surgeries before my 35th birthday and have to go to pain management yet can't get on disability so I feel overwhelmed by health and financial issues. My most recent surgery and hospitalization resulted in a $200,000 bill - no lie - and I often wonder what organ will go bad next year etc. I am fighting myself to not become depressed and hopeless and any support I can find at this point is more than welcome!

Thank u ginger, I appreciate the support and reassurance that I am not alone, sometimes it's hard to keep fighting but I can see there are people out here that can encourage me so I know I can do it! Dealing with the bureaucracy and bills does become extremely frustrating tho, and it scares me a bit to hear that you had a bad experience while you waited, lisciolni have a wonderfull father who is letting me live at home rent free until I can hopefully one day get back to living on my own but I have to admit i often feel like a burden getting sick year after year!! Thanks again!

Yes I tried to get an attorney when I was denied earlier this year but none would take my case bc I had been denied based on "too many resources" bc at the time i had more than $2000 in the bank. The attorneys i spoke with back then told me that reason for denial was nearly impossible to foght the government on and none would help me.  After this most recent surgery however I have no money left so I am planning on reapplying and hoping I can get a lawyer to assist me this time. Thanks for your support!

I hope you continue to get better and your sickness is behind you. It's truly financially, physically emotionally draining. I'm 37 and have had 13 surgeries so I feel for you. If you need to vent message me. Sometimes it does help to know your not alone. Getting benefits is extremely difficult and we almost lost everything while we waited. Unfortunately persistence and hard work is what it requires and you may not feel up to it because of your illness. Make it your #1 priority!
Big hugs
Ginger
