non stop bleeding for 2 months- been on no medications

Hello everyone,

At around the end of Oct. I started my period (my period usually starts any where in between the 25 to the 5th of the month). Well when I started I bled for 1 day then it stopped so I was a little worried then about 2 days later I started again then stopped again after about a day. When it began the third time it was a full period for 7-8 days then it stopped so I wasn't worried but then a few days later 3-4 days I started having this discharge which it was browish/blackish/redish (never had that color) I thought ok maybe its just me ovalating (which spotting is normal). But it has not gone away (it stopped once for 3 days and then started up again) and now it is Nov. In fact just yesterday it began to get thicker and have alot of clotting. All through this whole experience my breast have been really sore and feel engored they feel as they are getting bigger. I am on no medications or birth control (I don't want to be on birth control at all it messes with the hormones to much). I have not seen a doctor in 6 1/2 years since my son was born, everything has been fine until now. Oh and I am 25yrs old.

FYI: I know the best possible way to handle this is by going to the doctors but I have no insurance and don't have the money to go. Which I am trying to work on. I just figured if anyone knows of what this might be?

Well Thanks everyone and have a wonderful day!

Hello everyone,

I made an appt. today at planned parenthood for this coming Tuesday. I am a little nervous though. Anyways the one girl told me I could be pregnant and to take a test in the mean time. I dont think I am but who knows. I think what made her think that was that my breasts are sore. I believe why the bleeding is thicker is that I am actually on my period now but the times in between I dont know what that is. They also said it could be something else (not pregnant) and needs to be checked ASAP as that is not normal. They are charging me $50.00 dollars for all the tests. (which I dont think is too bad).

Well anyways Ill keep you posted as I find out what is happening with me.

Take care everyone

This is a very important symptom especially as it seems to be progressing, you say now thicker, a lot of clots and sore breasts.  It could be as simple as a need for hormones your body is not producing.  Try the other suggestion about planned parenthood, there must be a women's health center, or a phone call to the hospital for some direction about how to get some care.  It is in everyone's best interest that you be looked after.  Your child needs you.  Call or see someone today and let us know how you make out.

The only time I ever did this was when my ds was born I bled for 10wks pp (never alot but it was there) I was even bf him so go figure, anyways I went to 2 diff DR & both said it was just hormones.
I know u said u didn't take bc, so is there any other thing u can think of to do w/hormonal stuff that might have made this happen? Vitamins can make u clot more but besides that I'm not sure what to think Good Luck hope it stops soon so u won't have to spend a ton on tam. or pads!!!

Hello Nalla,

Yes I am looking into getting into a doctor ASAP. To answer your question about pain I am having cramps that I usually have with a regular period. Oh I forgot to mention there is no abnormal smell. I did also think I was pregnant just because my breast hurt so much but the bleeding is causeing me to be clueless?? I would appreciate opinions though so I will be somewhat educated on the matter when I go to see the dr. Thanks for your reply!

Try calling a local Planned ParentHood and describe the problem to them.  They should have a telenurse their that can answer questions, if not at your regular OBGYN.  Anyway bloody discharge doesnt sound normal.  It CAN be a sign of cervical cancer.  (I'm not saying it is, just throwing it out there.)

I'm not sure what it could be. Are you in any pain? I know you don't have insurance, but you need to get to the Dr. And you should be getting anual pap smears. I know some women don't think they are importnant because they feel fine, but so much could be going on inside a woman's body and you wouldn't know it untill you start to get symptoms after whatever it is has advanced. Please go to your Dr. nobody on here can tell you what it is, they can only give you their opinions as what they think it is. the symptoms you are having really could be a number of things. Go see your Dr. I hope that everything is fine. Good luck!
