I used th early response tests that are available in the states and with both of my pregnancies got a positive result FOUR days prior to my period being due. I highly recommend these. (maybe no available in the country Bhupinder Kaur is from?).
But from what you've written, it is hard to tell if you could be pregnant. In truth, you would be unlikely to have many physical symptoms at all of pregnancy early on. Nausea/morning sickness for example doesn't start for the majority of women until around 6 to 7 weeks into the pregnancy. The reason for that is that the symptoms are a result of the accumulation of the pregnancy hormones. You have to accumulate enough to even have a symptom. While every woman is different and every pregnancy is different, you often hear of simply being a bit more tired as the only symptom early on in pregnancy (around when your period is due).
I would guess you are about to begin your period. The pains and such make me think that might be the case. I know when I was trying to conceive, I really felt every little twinge and such as I was hyper focused on it. So keep that in mind.
Here is how a woman's cycle works---- day one of a cycle is the first day of your period. You begin counting from there. Around day 10 is the best day to begin having unprotected sex to become pregnant and continue to do so for the next 10 days----- but every other day (do this a bit longer if your cycle is longer than what is average for most woman). Women generally ovulate midway through their cycle-- around day 14 and the egg is there to ovulate for around 24 to 48 hours. It's hard to know exactly when you will ovulate though and that is why doctors recommend the every other day schedule for 10 days to catch it.
Hope this helps. peace and luck to you
Hello,
Most home pregnancy tests that check urine beta-HCG are sensitive to 20-25 mIU/ml of HCG. The test can be positive anywhere from about 2-3 days prior to a missed menses to 4-5 days after, but usually it should be done 7-10 days past your missed period. It is not uncommon for women to have negative pregnancy tests when they are pregnant.
Hence it is better to get serum HCG levels done.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
It might have been too early to test, but I doubt that you would have been feeling symptoms as early as a week after you and your partner had sex. It takes about 2 weeks for the egg and sperm to fertilize and implant itself to the wall of your uterus. I would probably wait a couple more days and re test again.
