embarassing vaginal odor

Hi,
I am 18 years old. I lost my virginity one month before I turned 17 and hadn't been active for 14 months. But I became active again recently and both my partner and I noticed the odor while we were "active". It was so embarrassing I just wanted to die, especially since it was the first time we were doing it. This isn't the first time I noticed the smell though. I notice it especially when I get aroused which is often when I see my partner. I noticed you said that arousal will sometimes make it worse but I can't stop myself from getting aroused is there anything you would recommend? I need to get rid of this problem as soon as possible!!! Thank you.
