Abnormal Discharge

I have recently noticed that I am having an abnormal amount of pink discharge coming from my vagina along with itch and burn. This happens every time after I've had sex except usually it's white and only lasts for a week. This has been ongoing and is highly uncomfortable. I am not on birth control and have been having unprotected sex because I thought the cause of this was condoms but am wrong and now feeling stupid. I have stopped having sex and plan to as I have had it to my wits end with this vaginal problem. I want to see a gyno but am scared to tell my mom.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Such discharge can be due to yeast infection or candidiasis. Other than that it can be due to STD’s. The best tests involved in the diagnosis of candida are scrapping or swab examination of the scrapings after KOH mounting. The other test that can be done is fungal culture of the scrapings from the tongue of the vaginal swabs.
Try to avoid wearing tight underwear and pants.  Wear cotton underwear as much as possible and maintain proper hygiene.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
