Please Help?

I'm 17 and I have a strange kind of hard bump near my clitoris. I don't think it's a pimple, and it feels kind of like, I don't know, like it's under the skin so I can't really squeeze it and honestly I don't want to, I read some other posts with people that have the same thing or something similar and they said that they squeezed it and it popped. I'm really scared to do this. It's a tiny bit sore when I touch it but I'm so freaked out I can't stop inspecting it. Is this a cyst? Will it just go away? I really don't want it to get any bigger and I'm scared to pop it, or if it pops. Oh, I don't know if this is necessary information or has anything to do with it or not but I'm also pregnant. Please help!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to a boil or a cyst. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics or incision and drainage may be needed. Please consult a doctor in that case.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello, and good morning.

Don't be scared, this happens to me ALL the time. I'm 16. Its either a pimple or an ingrown hair. Both hurt, but it will go away on its own, or you can pop it. Here's what my doc suggested for me:

Take a warm washcloth in the shower and clean the area well. You can use gentle soap or femainine hygien soap, too. You need to exfoliate the area, like you do when you get acne on your face. Also, if you shave, stop shaving there for a few days and it should clear up. In the future, make sure to be very, very thurough and careful when washing and shaving. It's nothing you're really doing wrong, tons of women have this just because they don't know exactly how well they're supposed to clean down there.

If it doesn't clear up in a week, see the doc to make sure nothing's going on.

Best wishes,

~ Em
