period lasting for more than 5 months possible anemia conection?
i have ben bleeding for longer than 5 months, non stop, extreamly unpredictable, and i was wondering if it could be connected with an anemic problem or maby endometreosis because that runs in my family, im at a loss pleas help

What you are having is menorrhagia. Causes of menorrhagia are hormonal imbalance, fibroids(benign (non-cancerous) tumors that often occur in the uterus of women during their thirties or forties), uterine cysts(ovarian cysts) and polyps(cervical or endometrial.They are small, fragile,non cancerous growths in the cervix or uterus), some forms of cancer and certain medications. Intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUD’s) and pelvic inflammatory disease may also lead to excessive bleeding.
In my opinion, physical and pelvic examination along with blood tests and ultrasound pelvis are required to make a diagnosis.

I'm headed to my doctor on Tuesday. I have been bleeding for over 13 Weeks. I had finger-like growths removed August of 2010 and this was the first since then. I would suggest seeing a doctor ASAP. It is never good for that long of a time. I will let you know what my doctor says and whats going on and maybe it can give you some help as to a possibility in what your experiencing but I would definitely go see a doctor.
