oh n ive been having head aches too...
Wow! That's wild about your dreams! I am one of those who believes that dreams frequently do have alot of significance. It could just mean that you have been thinking about being pregnant but you're not actually pregnant. I think sometimes stress can play tricks on our bodies. If you have been really worried that you might be pregnant, that could make your body do weird things or it could make you notice things more than before. (maybe even things that were there already)
Since your period is still a ways off, try to not worry too much at this point. (I know that's much easier said than done.) You can do a home pregnancy test a few days before your period is due. Hopefully that will be negative and will put your mind at ease. That's too bad that you're not able to take BCP. What about those lambskin condoms? They're a little more money but you won't be allergic and the sensitivity is way better.
I also wanted to address what you said at the beginning about having a history of feeling sick for no reason. I'm glad you clarified and said that you just hadn't found the reason yet. Because you know your body better than anyone. And if you feel like something is wrong, then there must be something causing it. Don't ever listen to anyone try to tell you that there is nothing wrong or you're imagining things when u know something's wrong.
I was in that boat for quite a few years. Of course I was right and there was something wrong. Nothing life-threatening fortunately but things that got to be fairly debilitating as the years went by w/o treatment. If I could tell myself at age 22 anything to try to help my cause and avoid some of the years of feeling really crappy, I'd stress how essential a good diet is. Drinking regular Coke, eating candy, wheat/gluten, dairy, refined sugar, etc., comes at a price. For me it was damage to my thyroid. I developed Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and hypothyroidism, which went undiagnosed for 27 years. It was always pretty rough for me just trying to get through life and survive. I was diagnosed with lupus, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, asthma, among other things, but since the whole picture wasn't known, even the treatments for those things only brought mild improvement.
The other key thing besides diet...stress! Years of chronic stress took an enormous toll on my body, especially adrenal glands. So now I am on medication for that and the thyroid and I feel like I am on the way back to being my old self. :) Sorry to be going on and on. I am deviating from what your original question was. But when I saw that you were in a place similar to where I was before spending years being sick all the time, I just thought I'd try to give a little advice in hopes of saving you some suffering. Hope it helps a little! At the end of the day, just always make your health a top priority. Get checked out when you know something is wrong, and if you don't feel like you got a good enough answer from one doctor, go get a second opinion. (I went through 4 endocrinologists and finally got a woman who isn't even an endocrinologist to put me on the right thyroid meds.)
Will pray for you to be NOT pregnant. Try not to stress too much. I am trying to conceive now, so I overanalyze all my symptoms, too, in hopes that I am pregnant. Best of luck to you! And please keep us posted on how things turn out! :)
hey, thanks. n i dont mind at all the length of wht u wrote i really wanted something like that cuz the more i get the better i can understand whats up w me. my sister had tyroid problems they hat to take hers out and my mom has a lot of medical issues including fibro, asthma, and a bunch of other things. I thought that it might just be me thinking about it too much and i really hope thats all it is.. dont get me wrong i love my bf and i love kids but we have his daughter and i dont want one of my own right now. Im 22(just turned on the 8th) and stress probably plays a big roll in my problems ive had anxiety, depression, stress, sleep insomnia, n panic attacks for ever.... i dont eat too unhealthy and i try to keep my self w/out stress now but i dont have medical insurance right now so everything worries me and then i get more worried cuz i cant just go get checked n if i do whether theres something wrong or not ill have some huge bills to pay. but thats life. i hate going to the doctors tho cuz like you said not all docs r really there to help they just want the money. i dont trust them to do what they are suppose to be doing.
I see! Well, then definitely you have the right idea trying to keep your stress level down. You can just keep an eye on your symptoms, and maybe keep track of them, too, so that down the road when you do go see a dr, you'll be ready and can give a good detailed history. You're going to be just fine! Everything we're talking about is treatable. And hopefully things will improve for you without a bunch of medications. Keeping the stress level low and having a (reasonably) healthy diet will allow your body to function at its best. I had my share of all those stress-related difficulties, too. When you do have health care coverage at some point in the future, I highly recommend counseling or therapy. I didn't start it until my mid-30's and I think it would have been really helpful to me had I started it much younger.
I hope you're able to get a handle on the stress. Sometimes there are underlying things that you're not as aware of that are the real problem. (but we focus on the present stressful things to kind of avoid facing some of the more difficult, painful stuff) Any way, hang in there! There are plenty of good doctors out there whose #1 concern is helping their patients and not money. But the best way to find them (when you're ready) is through a personal referral. Best of luck to you, sweetie! :)
