Trying to get pregnant.

      Hi there,
I stopped my birth control in the beginning of January and I have gotten my period on a monthly regular basis. I just started my period again on the 10th of March as I do every month, I only get my period for 5-7 days max and I think im on the last day or so. I had sex with my husband unprotected is it possible that I could be pregant? I am trying so its known. Thanks!

Hello,
As mentioned earlier, ovulation is the release of the egg from the ovary. It is seen that pregnancy only occurs if intercourse occurs within the 6 days prior to and including ovulation. Intercourse after the day of ovulation does not result in pregnancy. A woman ovulates 14 days before menstruation, sperm can survive in the vagina for 3-5 days and the ovum can survive up to 24 hours. You can note down few signs of ovulation like during ovulation the cervical mucus(discharge) increases and is of watery or raw egg white consistency; there is increase in basal body temperature; breast tenderness. It can be detected by an OPK (Ovulation predictor test kit) which is tested with the help of urine.
Fertility is the natural human capability of producing offspring.

Hi, i think you should give it a couple of months to settle down, but just keep the unprotected sex you never know till it happens, but you should try working out your period time table to when its really best time to get pregnant, unless your one of these women who can get pregnant by passing there husbands on the stairs, if you know what I mean.
Good Luck

Hello,
For conception, try having intercourse every month around your ovulation days as it is the best time for conceiving. Ovulation is the release of a single, mature egg from a follicle that developed in the ovary. It usually occurs regularly, around day 14 of a 28-day menstrual cycle. The best timing of intercourse in order to conceive is day 10, 12, 14 and 16 (in case of late ovulation) of a 28 day cycle. After intercourse, do not wash immediately and keep on lying for some time. You can also keep a pillow under your buttocks.
