Andi, thanks a mil for sharing your experience with me. Its just that the first time was so terrible. But as they always say and you have said it too- no 2 births/delivery are the same.
I also had a bad episiotomy with my first, took 45 minutes to stitch! I had my second son almost exactly 2.5 years later. He was heavier by a few ounces, longer by 1.4 inches and I had a vastly different labor and delivery experience. I ended up tearing up the opposite direction minimally, just one little stitch to fix it. I was obviously still sore, but no ill effects from the prior delivery. And almost 2.5 years after that I had my third son who was even heavier, but a little shorter and despite a broken tailbone, I suffered only a mild abrasion upward again and the doc did one stitch there just to be safe I guess.
I was terrfied of going through it again after what i went through with my first, but the second and third were drug free deliveries and I am glad I didn't press for a section ; )
