If the event you are worried about was April 7, there might still be time for her to take Plan B.  Look it up, I've never taken it but some of the women who have mention a 72-hour window.

If it's too late for Plan B, you can test and get reliable results around two and a half weeks after the unprotected sexual activity.  Some women get an answer two weeks after, but that is pushing the limit of home tests.  I would trust a home test three weeks after unprotected sex.

A "no" answer on a pregnancy test is reliable unless the test is done too early.  (Too early, a "no" just says it cannot measure the pregnancy hormone [yet]).  A "yes" is reliable, unless the person testing has not followed the directions on the test and reads it an hour later or something like that.

In short, halfway between day 1 of her last period and day 1 of her next period, she is at more risk of getting pregnant.  If she was not bleeding at the time you had this sexual event, it is more likely that she is at risk of pregnancy.  However, that time window is pretty small -- between the length of time the egg stays viable and how long sperm can live, she is only at risk for getting pregnant about 5 days of the month,

ovulation and menstration aren't the same thing. menstration happesn AFTER ovulation. when a woman ovulates is when her body releases the egg(s) to become pregnant. (the s is in paranthesis b/c some women do release more than one egg....i did. i now have 20 month old twins that are my world) menstration is when the egg "dies" in essence and the body is disposing of the uterine lining and the unfertalized egg to get ready for the next months ovulation. it is rare for a woman to get pregnant while on her period. it's not impossible but doesn't happen that often. it all depends how long her cycles are and where at in the cycle she ovulates.

my cycles are 28-31 days which means from day one of my menstration to day one of my next menstration is 28-31 days. 14 days prior to menstration is when i ovulate. that is when i would get pregnant if i was ttc. (which dh and i are not)

sorry i asked you a lot of question and i have no knowledge of this things and you are helping me alot i really thank you.and one thing which is not clear for me is.ovulating means when she is on a mensturaion and that means when she is on a mestrution and my sperm is on her vagania so there is a probablity that she is going to be pregnant.but she was not on a mestruation.so is it good.

It is possible, but not extremely likely, that if your semen reached her vaginal fluids the sperm can swim up and hit their mark.  As wow said, she would also have to be at exactly the right time of her cycle for there to be an egg waiting for the sperm.
