smelly vagina

I have been reading all the questions and everyone goes on about smelling of fish. I feel so alone cos I am not fish but a strong cheese/sweat/poo kind of smell. I notice it when I am sitting on the tolet or squatting down to play with my son. I think its coming from deep inside rather than my vulva ( I have rubbed my flaps and inserted a finger and sniffed and they dont smell like the stink I get when sitting or squatting) I am a very clean person and this is really getting me down and making me feel like a freak. I wish it WAS just a fishy smell, then I would know I was kind of normal as lots of these letters have confirmed, but not this stink. Its so upsetting. Have not had sex with my husband for over 2 years and all my tests from the doc show no infection. What is it???????

youre not alone, i had the same problem a couple of years ago. i had the same foul odor... to me it wasnt fishy, it was much worse. it was accompanied by kind of greenish vaginal discharge. went to the doctor and they said i had BV.

What did the doctor test you for -- have you been tested for BV, or just yeast infection?  A hallmark of bacterial vaginitis is a smell usually called "foul" in the medical literature.   If you know for sure you have been tested for it, then you might talk to the doc about other possible reasons, such as a diseased internal organ.  But it frankly sounds more like it's BV.
