yaz and yasmin are not the same, they are from the same company BAYER
yaz was designed for lighter periods and for treatment of PMDD. and has lower estrogen levels

yaz has 24 active pills (not 21 like most bc)
and 4 inactive pills at the end of the pack.

my question is since i started a day late will my body think i've stopped taking them  and start the cycle of ovulation?

I took Yaz years ago when it was called Yazmin and I can't remember what it looked like exactly.  Are the inactive pills the first or last 7 pills in the packet?  They are a different color.  The 7 pills of different color are just sugar pills.  Either way it is incredibly unlikely that you are pregnant missing one pill at the beginning of the cycle based on when a woman's fertile time is (middle of cycle), however if it was the sugar pill it is completely impossible.  You don't even have to take those, you can just toss them one a day and take only the 21 active pills and it will work just fine because the 7 are just place holders and contain no hormones.
