Trinessa and Skipping Periods

Hi, I have a vacation coming up in a couple of weeks so I tried to skip this month's period so I could get my next period a week before I had to leave on vacation.  I skipped the placebos and started taking the white pills of a new pack last Friday.  However, I was already spotting that Friday and I have continued to bleed everyday since then.  It has now been a week, I am on the light blue pills, and I'm still bleeding!!! Usually, when I wait a week before starting a new pack I only bleed for 3 or 4 days.  The bleeding has been light, but its never been this long while I've been on the pill.  If I stopped taking the pills now will I bleed for a few more days?  Or should I continue to take the pills?  If I stopped now, and I continued to bleed for a couple of days, should I just start a new pack of pills when the bleeding has stopped for at least 24 hours?  Any advice would be helpful because now I have no idea when my next "period" will come.  With my luck it will prob be during my vacation.  :(

Hmmm.  I'm still bleeding now although its lighter than its ever been during this whole mess. I might just stop taking the pill tomorrow and start another pack the following Sunday.  I haven't had sex in a few weeks so I don't need its protection at the moment.  Hopefully this will be ok and wont make my body freak out even more.  My vacation starts on the 3rd of July.  I hope my body will normalize by then.  Thanks once again.  Truly appreciate it.

It doesn't work well at all to try to skip with a triphasic pill. There is a way to do it but you have to take them in a different order and even then it doesn't work that well for most people and they end up with spotting or breakthrough bleeding. I mostly used a monophasic pill when I was on it and that always worked for me because it was the same level of hormones the whole pack. If you think you're going to want to skip more often, you will need to switch to a mono pill and be on it for several months before trying to skip again.

Honestly, it was messed up for a while. It came late during the placebo week and lasted a little into the first week of the next pack after that. It was 2/3 months before my period was normal again.

Thanks for replying!  So your period did come during the placebo week after you tried it?

Been there, done that. Trinessa doesn't work well if you want to skip your period by taking the packs back to back because the pills go from low dose to high dose of hormones instead of the same level for all 3 weeks. For me, I wanted to stay protected and continued to finish out the pack and went back to respecting the placebo week. My period normalized after a while.
