Out of body experience or what?

Okay I am going to do the best I can to explain what I experience while I'm asleep. I can be asleep and all of a sudden its like  I wake up, I can't move any part of my body, I can't speak, at first I couldn't open my eyes, but now I can, but I can hear whatever is going on around me, whether it be the tv, or family talking, dogs barking, just everything. I read a post where someone refer's to this as a out of body experience, and he goes on to say he has done this and that. Now  I can say that I have never let it go that far with me because it scares me to death, I fight to come out of it, and if I fall right back asleep, I go right back into it, I have to get up and walk around and smoke or w/e for a few minutes. I don't know what it is, or if I have any special gifts, my friends and my family say I'm psychic,  I say I have good intuition, but its crazy though, but just certain things, I know, but the things I know I get the feeling from inside, thats why  I say I have good intuitioin. I have saw paranormal things in my life, not much, but I have saw a few ghost's including my own father. I only saw my Daddy once, when I was 11, it was the night of his funeral. I awoke from my sleep, and I saw my daddy in the living room wearing a white robe, and he was just standing there looking at me. I was sleeping with my mom that night, and I was speechless, couldn't talk, but my mom saw nothing as she looked in the living room to see what I was looking at that had me soo astonished. So my question is what is what I experience in my sleep? I've heard different opinion's about it from an out of body experience to its one of my loved one's contacting me from the other side. So, please would anyone that may know what this is help me, it scares me to death, to the point I'm afraid to go back asleep. It happens randomly, but frequenly, atleast two to three times a month and more at times. Thanks ;)

Thank you Brice for commenting and helping me, you seem to be more knowledgable about paranormal activity than myself. I too find what you were told very interesting, and I totally believe it. I have always thought that voice to be my intuition but I agree its gotta be a guide, because that makes perfect sense, they really do guide one in their daily lives and decisions. I really have enjoyed your comment and appreciate you to take the time out to try to help me sort this, and yes I would love to talk more about this. Sorry it took so long for me to reply, hadn't been on here inna while.... If you happen to got back to the . "intuitive".  if you don't mind, ask her about what happens to me, I would be interested to see what she said.

What I was talking about when I mentioned sleep paralysis with a paranormal experience, I was referring to some of the things I've seen on t.v.  Some people become paralyzed....like between sleep and awake, cannot move, and then a ghost manifests itself.  I've heard of scary situations like something truly evil and then some less scary but scary nonetheless like you stated above.

Let me run this by you.  I recently went to an "intuitive".  Basically she is a psychic who can read auras and can communicate with the other side.  I have always been skeptical.  During my reading, this lady landed on too many things that just couldnt be covered by a blanket statement.  She was too precise about some very random things in my life, and they were things that she could know nothing about.

Anyhow, before my reading, she told me what she does and explained a bit of how it happens.  She then told me that we all have a "crew" on the other side that helps guide us through our lives, and that our life here is college.  She mentioned that where our crews are, all is pure....no evil.  Our guides are people from past lives, perhaps friends or relatives that we were once with.

Going forward, she told me that we have our crew all around us.  Our protection from the other side is on our right side and our life guide is on our left.  Our guide is our gut instinct..... that little voice in our head that tells us to do or not to do certain things.  She told me to acknowledge them every day.

Since this information was brought to me, I have been far more aware of my gut instinct and am learning to trust it more.  It is on the button way more than I ever thought.  Have you ever thought to yourself, "I probably shouldn't do this but...?" then you do it and something adverse than what you had hoped for happened?  That little voice is your guide.  Had you listened and not done that little thing, you would not have been subjected to the less than positive outcome.

I dont know if any of this was a help.  If you want to talk more about this, let me know.  I am very open about this as it is and has kind of changed the way I look at things.  Most of it doesnt need to be frightening if you know how to look at it.  It is a communication from the other side.

Okay let me share my experience last night, I'm still scared to death... I was asleep and IT happend again, only this time it was quite a bit different and def scared me even more. I was sleeping and all of a sudden awoke like I always do, and couldn't move or nothing but I was trying to fight it and wake up and I absolutley couldn't. It was almost as if at times it felt like a dream and then I'd go right back to fighting to come out of it. Well I can't remember all of the "dream" part but I do remember someone else was with me, a playful person, and we was on my bed, and we were going to get up, but we saw something, from my bed run into the kitchen, it appeared to be two small kids that I didn't recognize at all. Well whoever was with me was giggling and acting silly and they rubbed my hair like you would to like knot it up or something... Like I said the person was very playful and so was I for that matter lol. Well FINALY I came out of it and I was really scared to death. I got up to go smoke and was just trying to understand all this and thats when I remembered reading on here about the guy I spoke about that said he done all kinds of stuff. He said he would roam his house, slide down the stair railings, and even saw his dog laying in a certain position in the living room, and that his dog saw him and was alarmed. Well the guy went on to say that once he came out of it he walked down stairs to see if his dog was actually laying in that particular position and he really was. So I sat there this morning just trying to sort all this and glanced in the mirror and my hair right on top was knotted up and teased up, from whoever or whatever doing that to my head earlier. I am still in shock let me tell you!! I know for a fact it couldn't be from the way I was sleeping for many reason, well first of all I always brush my hair before bed and I had only been asleep for close to two hours and secondly I lay on my stomach with my hair to the side because its sooo long! So, this is the first time that this has happend and I remember anything other than fighting to come out of it, and I'm really freaked out!! Whoever was with me, like I said wasn't mean, they were very playful and so was I for that matter, now the two kids we saw sneeking into my kitchen really scares me because I DEF do not recognize them at all!! This has really scared me to the point I don't want to go to sleep, please if anyone knows about this or has researched this, please help me out here because to say the least I'm quite frightend and scared!! Thanks :)

Yes it was wonderful to see my Dad, but that is the only time that I have ever experienced actually seeing him...God only knows how I would love to experience that again... But now I will say that I can feel my Daddy a lot though. My daddy didn't live an ensuring life that when he passed we all knew that he went to Heaven, and I was so worried about would I ever see my Daddy again. But the night we layed him to rest, I think that was my Daddy's way of showing me that I need not to worry that he really is in a better place and I will see him again.... My Daddy is not the only one I've seen though, seeing him was DEF more pleasent then the other encounter I had with seeing a ghost though, I will say....

You know I have heard about this ,you are not alone, I don't experience it but I have read about folks who do ,don't be afraid , view it as an experience that you are trying to find out about, a mystery .
