Hi,
The test is perhaps non-contributory to the workup of the tingling and numbness of feet. Perhaps a serum vitamin B12 level, nerve conduction velocity and EMG would be helpful.
From the oncology point of view, there is no evidence of MGUS or Myeloma.
Macular degeneration is a common, age-related condition.
Good Luck!
Plus he was just told he has Macular degeneration.
He went to the Neurologist because of some tingling and numbness in his toes and feet. They could not find anything so had this test performed. He is going to the specialist on Fri just to be safe.
Thanks for your time.
Hi,
A slightly elevated serum albumin level is, in my opinion, not of major clinical concern. Rather, if the total protein, or, specifically, the globulin component was raised, it would have required further workup.
Why was this test done in the first place? What were his symptoms?
He should not worry about this result. He should get a repeat test done after about three months.
All the best, and God Bless!
