The problem is, as I saw when I was in high school (so long ago they didn't teach history) other guys would ridicule the person with the erection and I'm sure gave him a complex of some sort..hopefully those days are gone now..I hope you can keep a towel nearby to cover up and dress without drawing a lot of attention...for a young man your age I know this can cause a lot of trauma...good luck..perhaps you can talk to a Phys Ed teacher or counselor/school nurse/ or your own doctor about this..

best of luck to you...it is a natural thing and one that will be over in a year or so...try to think of non sexual things...train wrecks, baseball games, oil slicks, etc.

Hi Cory,

Ok, I am not a male but I raised two boys. At 13 your testosterone (the hormones that help make you a male) levels are running high.

For some males, especially young males it takes very little stimulation for an erection to occur. This does not mean you are gay or that you are attracted to other males. It most likely is the stimulation of the showers.

I know this must be embarrassing for you but rest assured there is nothing wrong, this can be quite normal. In time this will not be an issue as you mature and become less sensitive.

Good luck to you. I promise this will get better.
