I also have a low lying placenta that is right up to the edge of my cervix. I was not advised to not travel for that reason alone, however, I started having Braxton Hicks contractions too often about 2 weeks ago and was advised not to travel far for that reason. I now see the doctor every week for exam and ultrasound to ensure they aren't productive contractions. But, as long as you aren't having any bleeding or spotting or on bedrest there's no reason you can't travel. Call your doctor and double check. You can never be too safe with a pregnancy.
Thank you very much for your message. My dr first said he didnt want me to travel, then when i asked him if it's because the flying would aggravate my low placenta he no, that flying would be ok, he just wanted to make sure i had a dr in Bali that could take care of me should an emergency rise.
I have a good friend who lives in bali and has a dr there she is giving me the detail of the Dr. I will bring the bali dr's information with me to my next scan on Monday to give to my Dr. If the scan goes well and he says ok to fly then i think i'm going to go. I'll be almost 16weeks next week, he prefers i wait then i'll wait to go on my 20th week.
Luckily I have not had any bleeding in the last 5 weeks, i had a blood clot from week 7-week 10 but it totally reabsorbed itself by week 11. Last week i had some mild cramping but it could have been stretching of the uterus, he advised me to be more careful and gave me more progesterone. It last for 1 1/2 day but now i have not had any since then. I"m still doing my normal routine, i work as a trainer but i don't lift weights when i'm not working i am at home on sofa relaxing.
I guess you can never be too careful but I also dont want to live my life on the sofa if i dont have to.
Sorry for venting, i appreciate your message..
