Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Dizziness and or nausea while eating could be due to acid reflux. The reverse flow of contents of the stomach cause a series of neurochemical transmissions, which cause dizziness and nausea. Normal GERD will not cause dizziness and nausea if under control. However a person with severe uncontrolled acidity or when such a person is hungry or his stomach is empty except for the acid, he may feel dizzy. Also presence of an ulcer in the stomach or weak esophageal sphincter can complicate matter. I would recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system).
The second possibility is that you have a TMJ disorder that precipitates dizziness and once you start chewing. This is most likely cause.
There are two possible causes. One is that when TMJ is inflamed inner ear is affected causing dizziness and nausea. The second possible cause is inflammation of the sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM) involved in TMJ and chewing.
In all the above cases it is possible to have only nausea. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks, caffeine, and spicy food. See if this helps.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Need to be checked to parasites too.
Have you talked to your PCP/Family Physician or consulted a GI Specialist about this, especially since you are losing weight?
Do you have allergies by any chance? I'm not a doctor but I have bad allergies/asthma and sometimes when I don't take my antihistamines I get a post nasal drip which cases similar symptoms. I've been trying to get off my allergy meds with natural treatments so it's been happening a lot while i try stuff out.
I think heartburn can kind of cause that. I'd say go to a doctor, maybe you just have a weird bug? or if you're on any meds, could be a side effects? Those are just some ideas...
There's this over the counter anti nausea syrup that helps me sometimes it's called "emetrol" it tastes like candy. But if it's severe nausea don't know how much it will help.
Feel better!
