Question about getting progesterone shots....
Does anyone know what the best practice is for these? Does it matter what time of day? Can you give them to yourself? My nurse said that was not really possible for me to give them to myself- but a girl on you tube did! Is it an evening thing?
My dh travels a lot for business and I have no idea how I will do this without him! I do not really have anyone around that can help- especially since we are not telling anyone what we are doing!!!

Get imla cream- you need a prescription- but it rocks! Hang in there!

yeah it's possible to do it yourself. The shots themselves are not so painful, though afterwards can be.
Just did my 2nd shot this morning. Noone to give them to me but me.
Don't try it anywhere else but the butt. It has to go into the muscle. The yucky part for me is feeling the needle go through different tissues.

Okay- a week or so into it- my hips are sore- but nothing worse than a bruise.
First one done and I swear I did not even feel it- but I did use the numbing cream AND iced it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, I did throw a tantrum which is not my personality, beforehand. I did sit on a heating pad to help it disperse!

Tonight is my first shot- first of many! I am so anxious abut this. I wish it was a morning thing- then it would be done!!!!!! argh.
Hey ladies : ) I have to give my hubby testosterone shots every 2 wks, and yesterday did the ice thing first. He said it helped 100%!! I think that's def the route I'm going to go!
I am gonna have to administer my shots myself too, my husband says he can't stand the thought of that big needle into my lil body! haha! :)

I got an rx for a numbing cream!
Just ice it you won't feel a thing am a nurse so I administer the shots myself it's really not so bad , after the shot make sure u massage it in the skin or just put a warm wash towel!! Good luck !! Am in the 2ww wish me luck.
Girl, whatever you can suggest... I'll be trying! : ) I am soooo scared! ugh! I used to flinch with the lupron shots I gave myself, and heck, I couldn't even feel them!
We will be okay. Maybe I can figure some tips out since I start mine first. i am planning on using an ice pack- that is for sure!

My husband says he can't do it... he just can't. I am sitting hear with my foot shaking just thinking about it. Gulp! I am gonna have to give it to myself. I work with nurses, but will have to do it myself on the week-ends...
I am relatively thin, so I pray that they will let me use a shorter needle. I can deal with a smaller needle with longer dispense time then I can that huge needle!

I have watched- this is the one thing I just do not know about. I am scared. If they are a day time thing- I will go to my clinic if he is out of town. If they are an evening thing- I am in deep trouble! The 1 nurse that I am 'friends' with is the neighborhood gossip- so that won't work. I am telling you- just touching the bag I have all that stuff stored in makes me sweat! I have it all together and away from everything else- right now it is hidden in my closet! The needles look wicked. Don't know what affirmations I need to be saying to make this a positive thing- but I better figure it out quick!!!!!!!!!!
Girl, I am having serious nightmares about this dang shots! ugh! The nurse, and several people on here have told me can give them to yourself, and that it's actually less stessful to do so. Idk... I am scarred sh%*le$$ about it though! I just don't know how I am every going to do it! I did see alot of videos on youtube about giving them to yourself if you want to check there.
