Whoops, I meant sudie, not audie. My iPad changes my words, hate that!
Hi Audie, looloo and chitchat:
I'm still smoke free. It's been hard at times but whenever I get a bad craving, I remember my COPD. I just can't smoke now knowing for sure that it will shorten my life dramatically. I see my doctor on Wednesday and it will be great telling him that I haven't smoked in two months.
I hope all of you are doing well with your quits. Keep up the good work and let's stay in touch.
Hi - glad you joined, too! C~
Well done to both of you you are doing great! I haven't had a cigarette for 29 days now so I'm a bit behind you two. I am feeling great for it, I no longer feel ruled by cigarettes, I am using an inhalator but I am only using 1 or 2 cartridges a day so I'm weaning off nicely.
I hope your health continues to improve!
hi looloo, forgive me jim for using your thread, its over 6 weeks now ,i stopped on , well just looked and it was 28th april, same as you jim,lol (must have been something in the air!) it has definately helped my copd. i can walk further and stairs are easier, hope yours is easier too jim, how is it going with you looloo?. god bless.
Hi looloo, thanks for writing. I'm doing fine. I quit on April 28 and so far so good. One day at a time. How are you doing?
Hello Jim and everyone else too!
Sorry to hear about the COPD Jim and Sue, at least you are doing something about it, I dread to think what damage I have done to my lungs, I have scarring from pneumonia when I was a child, and every cold I get goes straight to my chest.
Hows everyone doing now?
Hi, thanks for writing. Congrats to you also, 5 months quit, that's great! Keep up the good work. You can do it! I think my diagnosis will give the quit for good this time. Take care---Jim
Hey Jim, welcome. Sorry to hear about the copd, but you have done the bestest thing you could do by laying down them smokes! The farthest I got last time I quit was 6 months cause of anxiety and panic attacks. Started smoking again just to feel normal and then this past New years eve, laid em down for good. Wow! a year and a half eh! That had to hurt! Well you wont do that again! Good luck!
thanks very much jim, i dont have a cough, but i dont know what stage or anything, i am from uk, and dr.just told me i had it, and thats it, i find it hard walking too far, or lifting things, i am not on any meds or anything, but it is an awful thing, i cant believe ive done this to myself, and that i will never run again, you take care too, best wishes sue
Hi, thanks for your welcome to the group. Congrats on quitting, seven days, that's great.
The first few days to week are the toughest so keep it up, it will get easier. Sorry to hear you have COPD. What stage are you at? Mine is mild, I mostly have the cough with mucous without much breathlessness. But is is kind of scary to get the diagnosis. Well, thanks again for writing and take care---Jim
hi, and welcome, well done on quitting!! i have only just stopped myself, is the 7th day now, i am finding it hard , but have also got copd. i should have stopped when i was first diagnosed, over a year ago! i have found it a lot easier to walk further, even after only 7 days. i know it will get easier, i wish you well and god bless.
