I am 12 weeks used clindamycin cream one night 20 hours later I had light bleeding which I still have! I don’t dare use anymore. I have had a scan and baby is fine I am just terrified now. I wish I didn’t use it! I have been spotting for 24 hours I want it to stop! Anyone else had this problem?
I used the clindamycin phosphate vaginal cream last week when I was 10 weeks pregnant! Now this week my vagina is itching EXTREMELY!! I KNOW it has to be one of the side effects.
Along with its needed effects, clindamycin topical may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur while taking clindamycin topical:
More common
•Itching of the vagina or genital area
•Pain during sexual intercourse
•Thick, white vaginal discharge with no odor or with mild odor
P.S. Do you happen to remember if it caused any pink cm or light spotting when you did it?
No, nothing is TMI for me anymore. lol
Well the infection is not just vaginal but cervical too, so that is why I have to insert it. :P lame! but I'm sure it will be fine. Anxious for my next ultrasound!
I did use it during the first trimester but I didn't insert it. I just applied to the outer area and used my finger to apply a little further in, Sorry if TMI.
So did you both use it during your first trimester??
Whew!! That makes me feel sooo much better! :) Thank you very much!
Everything I was reading said that BV can cause miscarriage or early labor, which obviously scared me...but then the thought of taking something during the 1st trimester that could cause miscarriage also terrified me! lol But I would rather treat the infection. :)
Thank you for responding! :)
Yep, I used and it glad I did. Better to treat the infections than to let it go, the infection can harm the baby.
You should be just fine! Unfortunately Yeast Infections and Bacterial Vaginosis is common in pregnancy. Its def safe to take, especially since the doc gave you the go ahead!
