Can sleeping position cause a flareup of TN pain?

Has anyone noticed a flareup of TN pain after sleeping on their side?  My TN pain has been pretty much under control since being put on Lamotrigine in Aug/Sept of 2020, with a rare occasional moderate flareup.  I usually sleep on my back but this past week I did spend some time on my side, before falling asleep.  About two days after this I had a horrible flareup, something I haven't had in years.  I would have on the rare occasion, slight pain when rubbing my upper lip or wiping my nose. I have discovered, in the past, that neck positions while laying on my back can affect my TN pain.  Of course, my neurologist said that position should not make a difference.  Has anyone else noticed possible positional flareups?

Yes, that when it flares up my occipital neuralgia. But other things also make it flare up as well. I’ve already have MVD for my LT side  still having massive amounts of pain. At the scar sight as well on the side of my head.
