Got the Spikevaxx and now Positive for Covid

Last Wednesday I got the Moderna Spikevax as my wife had tested positive for Covid last weekend.
The first day was not bad at all (like all the similiar vaccines & boosters) then woke up Thursday with chills,
body aches, congestion, sweats, cough. I got through that okay but had a bad night so did a Covid test
Friday morning (yesterday) and tested positive for Covid.

Has this happened to anyone else?

My understanding is it’s takes time for any vaccine to spike your immunity to give you the protection.  My uneducated guess is you may have already had Covid from your wife when you got the vax.  In any event I hope you guys are feeling better.

As xitjim says, most or all vaccines take some time to get into your system and begin to protect you. When I got the flu shot this time, the nurse told me it would take two weeks to be fully effective.

It is certainly possible that your exposure to your wife (or even, both of you being exposed at the same time to someone else who had Covid) is why you got sick. The fact that it came on so fast sounds like it was already in your system by the time you got your vaccine.

Having Covid won't negate the effectiveness of the vaccine, so don't worry, you'll be protected by it from now on out.

Immunity from the vaccine doesn’t kick in for a couple of  weeks. Sounds like you got the vaccine too late. I hope you only have a mild dose of Covid, nevertheless
