Covid now to be treated like Annual Flu

How far we've come!  Things have changed dramatically in terms of CDC guidance on covid protocol. https://www.cdc.gov/respiratory-viruses/guidance/faq.html   I think this is good news! We are past the pandemic and fear part of covid and now learning to live with it in our communities.  Hospital admissions are down 75% for covid! CDC says that there are fewer complications of multisystem inflammatory response and long covid is going down. All going in a good direction. I'm relieved. This has been an amazing time in history seeing the world work through this.

Are you as relieved as I am?

Oh, well, what are you hearing? I took that straight from the CDC and recent news about it. I've had covid at least twice. I didn't like how it was all politicized. That bugged me! I had tons of anxiety the first time I had covid which was early before vaccines. Man, was I sick. Twelve straight days of fever and lost my sense of smell or taste for over a year. What was the worst part for me was the anxiety during it. I had an oxygen thing for my finger and kept testing my oxygen levels. I knew if I was going to go South, it would happen between day 5 and 10 and so I was really stressed during that time. I got my covid vaccine right away when I could. And then the booster. The next booster and a third booster. I didn't get it this year just because I wanted to get it through my health care provider and they had very few locations administering it and then it just fell off my radar.

Anyway, the second time I had covid, it was significantly milder. Seems to be the case for a lot of people as time has gone on.

No one wants flu and no one wants covid. Flu can be deadly to high risk people. So can covid. I'm not implying that covid doesn't still have people that have complications that can be serious but they are saying that it is similar to how flu. I took it as good news.

I'm much less afraid to get covid now. And in my area, it's no longer tracking. It was a mild flu season here as well. (I'm in the MidWest, US)

What are you hearing that is different?
