Antibiotics

Hi I know there is a first line antibiotic for gonnorhea but does the second line option of cefixime and azithromycin have a good success rate still?

This depends on where you are, and the level of resistance there is in your area. You'd have to ask experts in your area.

Is this from the risk you had in March? Have you tested? You should just test to see if you have it. That's the best way to know. Guessing helps no one.

I’m in UK. I’ve tested twice negatively but with home tests. As you can tell I’m fairly anxious and paranoid so it’s almost as if I’m going to test until it’s positive. It’s hard to accept it’s ok and move on. But my original question I guess is does that dosage of antibiotics still work in general terms?
As I said, it depends on where you are on how well it works. I don't know how well it works in the UK - local area experts would know better.

I did find this:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/ceftriaxone-resistant-neisseria-gonorrhoeae-incident-management/managing-incidents-of-ceftriaxone-resistant-neisseria-gonorrhoeae-in-england

"Cefixime resistance has been shown to remain low, at 0.3% in 2021. However, ciprofloxacin (46.9% in 2021) and, most notably, tetracycline (75.2% in 2021) resistance have continued to increase despite infrequent use for treatment of gonorrhoea."

It's from a few years ago, though, so I don't know how current it is.

If it's about the encounter you posted about in March, you had no risk, which we explained at the time. I don't know if you went outside a relationship, and that's why you are so anxious about it, or what, but as you were told, you had no risk.

Your tests are negative because you had no risk. If you can't let that go, you need to talk to a qualified mental health professional.
Can I just ask one more question Jessi please? In the act of whatever I was doing, from memory although this could be my mind playing tricks, there may have been an incidence, of no more than a couple of seconds where my not fully erect penis brushed against what was obviously a dry vagina, I have to assume penetration was impossible given the above and also the angles, also I assume I’d have noticed - does that brief level of exposure seem serious? Part of me appreciates this may be psychosomatic but when I go to pee my brain can only focus on any slight sensation and I have the feeling this focus is actually causing me to feel something when it might not be there?
I already answered this for you -

Please, get a counselor. Anxiety is your issue, not an infection.
There isn't anything more that our members can say about your event, so we're closing this thread. If you have further questions, please visit a doctor or clinic in person.
