I recently went and got a brazilian wax for the first time. I have always shaved my vaginal area myself and never bothered with the anal region. However, as most of you know, a brazilian completely removes hair from both areas (anal and vaginal). I have always had sensitive skin (acne, dry skin, can't use scented lotions or wear perfumes, etc) but since I have cleaned shaved my vaginal region without any problems I assumed a wax would not do any damage. Anyways, when the hair started growing back the friction caused from me walking irritated my anal area a lot. At first I thought it was just one of those beauty pains women usually have to deal with until I was showering and felt multiple, flat skin tags around my anus. They have since multiplied and I am getting worried. The only discomfort they caused me was when the hair was growing back and the fricition from me walking irritated the surrounding skin. Ever since the hair grew back, they have not been of any nuisance at all. They feel like the skin tags some of my family members have on their neck. They are slightly protruded and range from pink to the same color of the surrounding skin. They are only around my anal region.
I have gone to a free clinic for testing but the result will take up to two weeks. Incidentally, I was on my period so I couldn't see the doctor for a physical examination. So, I thought I should do as much research on my own until I am able to get the results and go back for a proper examination by the doctor. Unfortunately, the fact that my last boyfriend and I were having unprotected sex and he was cheating on me has greatly heightened my fear of possible exposure to an STD. Though I am being responsible by getting tested, I am still fearful. What is the likelihood that I have anal skin tags opposed to a more serious STD?
