Should I be worried

Recently we had my husband's brother and his pregnant girlfriend come and live with us briefly while they were looking for a place to live. His brother's girlfriend also has a 10 yr old daughter who was also staying with us. Her daughter would follow me around and want to help me with cooking and cleaning and one day she began telling me how much she hated my husband's brother. She also told me that one night when he went into to say goodnight to her he asked her if she wanted him to show her how to kiss properly! i asked what happened next and did she talk to her Mum about it and she said she told him to get lost and he left the room. The next day she told her Mum about it and when she confronted him about it he said she was lying and he asked her if she wanted him to show her how to skate properly. Her Mum did not believe her. This absolutely devastated me and I believe her. It is so sad that she has gone to her own mother about this and she won't believe her. It breaks my heart. I spoke to my husband about it that night who told me that a while ago he found a child pornographic picture saved in his brothers computer and that child porn websites kept popping up. I Have a 2 year old daughter and do not want anything to do with my husbands brother anymore because I am not willing to risk my daughter's safety. I also am worried that maybe this type of thing can run in the family. I know it is a horrible thing to worry whether your own husband may be capable of doing something like this but what do you think? Should I be worried?

From what I know I don't think they have found a herreditary link to pedefiles, before the incident with your brother in law have you ever felt the need to worry about your husband as a predator? ....As far as the brother in law goes you have to contact authorities for that little girl , Please be her hero......i am so sad that her own mother doesn't believe her. Does the mother know about the child porn on her husbands computer?//// either way , this little girl is crying out for help , there may be abuse going on and she is so ashamed that she could only admit to him asking for a kiss. I totally think you should contact the authorities about the kiddy porn cause it is illegal and if is cought they will contact CPS and investigate then the little girl will have a chance to get out of the possible abuse.

I don't think this kind of thing is hereditary, especially if your husband told you about the kiddy porn on his brothers computer if he was into the same thing he wouldn't have told you that. I think you are so freaked about the situatuion you are wondering what you would do in that situation , this is totally normal . But to me it dosen't sound like you hubby is like the brother. But please for no one else turn him in so the little girl has a chance after all her own momma is protecting her......if you don't who will?

Yes I completely understand what you are saying. They aren't actually staying with us now thankfully. But when I said should I be worried I meant should I be worried that this kind of thing is hereditary? I am already very concerned about my brother in law's step daughter.

You should keep that man as far away as possiable! I believe for your husband to admit to you what he saw on his brothers computer I wouldn't be worried so much about your husband,but I would definitely keep your brother-in-law away from your daughter,In Australia it is illegal to have child pornography on your computer,it is also illegal to go to child pornography sites.If I were you I would report his brother to the police,they would confiscate his computer and check every site he has been on,they can also check everything he has downloaded,even if he has deleted items they will still be able to retrieve them.
