The Bailouts

One thing I do want to say is that EVERYONE should be writing to their Congressman and Senators and telling them not to vote for the bailout!!!!  It's a horrible idea!  This is a country where we are all accountable for our actions and for the choices we make.  Do we as individuals get bailed out?  NO!!!  So, why should companies who do not manage themselves properly get bailed out?  If we let them fail - then another company will come in and pick up the pieces.  At least that's my opinion!

Neither party agrees to the bailout as the Bush administration has tried to enforce (thank god the senate has apparently grown some balls to stand up to  Bush's dictator-like mandates......or perhaps they have mary's) due to the complete lack of accountablity.  Please read secion 8 of the plan, it is extremely frightening to me the Administration would block any and all oversight of this bailout as stated in section 8.

That being said I completely agree with Mary,  I have every dime of my 401K, pension, tied to investments to take care of myself and my family for the rest of my life and leave a fair inheirentace to my children.    I own my home,  my cars, have absolutley zero debt, I put myself thru college,  had a very long and successful career, and have worked for everything I have, and was not given one thing by a rich family or our government.   Yet I may loose everything I have due to not only greed of corporations, but also to the Administration's blind focus on de-regulation and complete lack of accountabiltiy for de-regulated companies that have operated for years on government monies.

This is not a time for the American public to be lazy or uninformed, it is not a republican or democrat problem,  it is truly a crisis for the entire county.   It would behoove each and every one of us to be well educated of this financial crisis, how it will impact each of us, and to LOUDLY contact every political representative in your state.     I pray this country will finally wake-up before we are back in the bread lines, yet still spending billions in Iraq.

I get what you're saying but our government cannot afford this!!!   If we don't do it, companies will realize that our government is NOT going to bail them out and so they'd better get their ducks in a row!  Just like with children, don't we sometimes have to use tough love!  I think the bailouts that are being proposed and agreed upon by both parties are a HUGE MISTAKE!!!  These companies knew what they were doing and they knew they were being greedy just like the individuals who took out loans on homes that they couldn't afford!!!!

I'm not really for the bail-outs but I'm very afraid if things get even a little bit worse, I will be homeless.  So they have me by the balls.
