***Need Suggestions*****

Ok, I know I said I would stop crying about my moving and stuff, but I am soooo ticked off right now and don't know exactly what to do.  ..

I had my house termited last week, and I go in my garage and I see my 750 dollar generator had been stepped on by someone....uh, huh.......and is totally jacked.  there are footprints and the gas tank is crushed on top.  This thing was in pristine condition.  I called the company, and the guy laughed at me and said that his guys didn't do it, and wouldn't have gone in the garage???......they were in the garage because they took my food out of my fridge and put it out in front of my house, which Pi$$ed my off.  I called my realtor and have not heard back yet, but what the hellz do I do????  I feel like a fool.  I say.....they say.......Am I screewed???.......whaaaaaaaaa

Any suggestions?

Nauty.............

I talked to the owner of the company and he went ballistic!  I trapped him in so many lies it was almost comical.  He refused to give me the name of the guys in the house and told me to subpoena him......we continued......I asked him if he is insured and he did tell me "yes"  he said he has a 5000 dollar deductible so, oh well.

First he said his guys were not in my garage.  Then he says they were only in there to use power?  He said he asked all three of his guys and they said they didn't do it.  He stated that all of his workers are "Christian" and would not lie.......I was rolling.  He was stumbling and being trapped in every lie.......I asked if he is registered with the BBB and he was squirming and sad "NO"......He also told me that his guys have broken "lots" of things and he has paid for it.....lol.  Interestingly, he also described how confined that area was?...lol.  This guy is a complete tweeker run business....lie after lie after lie to the point that he literally hung up on me...hahhaa   I am going to get him.  I googled his company and there are soooo many complaints....It must be a franchise because alot of the complaints are all over the US.....I did leave a comment on his website.....not nice.  I will report this, and I am going to do what you said Sterling because I can almost bet that there is something on him.  I just don't know how, but do now....thanks.  I will get him.  I am going to submit him a bill for the cost of a new tank for the generator and see what he does.  I told him that I was in the process of selling it and he asked me "How much are you selling it for"  hmmmm interesting?....when i told him 400 bucks he groaned and backed off.  I contacted the sub-contractor and starting with them too......I WILL GET HIM!! ONE WAY OR THE OTHER>>>>>THANKS GUYS FOR ALL YOUR SUGGESTIONS> If I hadn't asked I probably would have just let it go......I am going to haunt this guys dreams till he pays.....lol

Thanks again and keep the suggestion rolling ........THANKS EVERYONE !!

Any company who does that work has to be licensed by the County or State or both.
Go on line to the States web site. Find out who the qualifying agent is for that company.
The qualifying agent holds the certificate of competency for that company. It is probably the owner. If it is not the owner, contact the qual. agent. Ask him/her for a certificate of insurance, with your name on it, as the certificate holder.
What you are doing, is making sure that this company is doing everything legally. You may get lucky, and find that they have not kept their license current. Or, they let their insurance lapse. Or maybe they don't have a license and insurance. When they give you the certificate of insurance, call the insurance company to make sure it is legit.(anyone can fill out a fake one on their puter).
Once they know you are sniffing around for this information, they may settle with you.
If you find they have all their ducks in a row. File a complaint with the County and  State. (the licensing board that governs them). No contractor wants to have a complaint filed with their licensing board.
If you find out that they are not properly licensed and insured, just tell them it's ok, as long as they drop off one of those nice quiet Honda generators. Then turn them in.
Hope this helps. Let us know what you find~~~~~~~~~

In the future, do the above before they do the work.

Girl, you are growing up.  Just because your little girl panics when these things happen doesnt mean your adult cant step in and HANDLE IT.  I know this sounds silly, but I talk to myself...tell my little girl that everything is going to be okay and BIG NAUTY is going to make sure this is handled appropriately!!!

You were right to ask for help.  Remember, you deserve to be treated rightly and fairly.  You are valuable and so are the things you value.  Take the bold steps to fight for yourself and you wont be screwed.

We all have a hard time making decisions when we are upset because someone has hurt and wronged us.  Use that energy to fight for yourself NOT WITH YOURSELF.

Love you, girl.

GO GET THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.   Also ask for the names of who ever was at your house doing the work, so that you'll have them for the police. Tell the owner of the company thats what you want them for.

If they were a reputable company, they should be licensed and insured. Insured for damages just like this. Take pictures and call the owner of the company and tell them you want them to file a claim with their insurance company or you will report them to the BBB and the police for vandalism (which the police will probably laugh at if you hired a company that isn't insured).
Hopefully you'll get a resolution to this problem.
Good luck.

you could call the police and file a report or call the better business bureau and report them, to me this is vandlism and they should pay for what was damaged.
