Metcalf's Coca Wine.. . It was advertised as making you happy and also medicinal

Mariani Wine... (cocaine) Pope Leo 13th carried a bottle of it and awarded the company a Vatican gold medal.

Maltine with Coca Wine... It was suggested that adults drink a glass after every meal and children half a glass.

Ferratin... The Company was proud of the fact that they were the biggest producers of products containing Quinine and cocaine.

Glyco Heroin... Used for all kinds of breathing problems.

Vapor-Ol... By the Vapor Ol Company... Opium and alcohol for asthma and other spasdomic affections.

Dragee's Antiseptiques... All singers,teachers, preachers had to have them for maximum performance. Great to,"Smooth," the voice

Cocaine toothache drops...Very popular in 1885. They not only releived the pain, they made the children happy.

Stickney and Poor's Pure Paragoric... (Opium and Alcohol) For new born infants to make them sleep well.  5 days old. 5 drops. 2 weeks old, 8 drops. 5 years old 25 drops. Adults 1 teaspoon full.

Until about 1905, Coca Cola had extracts of cocaine and the caffiine filled Kola nut. Ergo the name Coca Cola.

I can remember my grandmother giving us Paragoric when I was small whenever we were sick.She used to warm it up and put it in a shot glass.Dominosarah and I were just talking about this a few weeks ago.I had NO idea thats what was in Paragoric!!!!!! WOW!!!

Didn't Coke Cola originally contain actual cocaine or a derivative back in the 19th Century?  I could be quite wrong but I thought it was sometimes used for "medicinal purposes".
