There were a lot of people here in Tennessee who were hoping Manning would come to the Titans. He has a huge fan base as an ex-Vol. I think even old Bud was disappointed. Lol, you know he's serious if he is willing to fork over some dough. I do think Locker could have learned a lot from Manning. I never cared for him much but one can't deny he was good. I only say was because we really don't know how he'll be since the surgery. He could teach someone a lot, though.
No my dad wasnt a cheese head but he liked how Bart handled himself. Said the man had class.....
Your dad was a cheese head? Oh honey, I knew I loved you for a reason....lol
My dad was a Huge fan of Bart Starr....
Thank god he didnt go to SF. Go patriots!
"shoe button" HAHAHAHAHAHA !
Who can afford to go to an NFL game?? It's all big business now, very expensive, and I think they cheat!! But that's just me!
You are contagious, I cant stay around here to long but, "shoebutton"?
That must be before my time.
I was going to mention Bart Starr but you guys might send me to the old folks home!
Speak for yourself shoebutton!! lol
Sounds like a bunch of old folks on here! lol
"Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio ?"
I was just reading that. I wonder how Sanchez feels about that.
Sexy Rexy and the hated J-E-T-S now have the almighty Tebow. That should be a good mix! How does this possibly EVER work out? And I am the only person who actually watched him play last year?
I agree vicki...It is all about the money and greed now. I miss the days of Fran Tarkenton, Carl Eller, Allan Page and my favorite #44 Chuck Foreman. They played the game cuz they loved it......
Yes...it's still too painful to even read about the Pats' demise!
I really feel like sports in general are disappointing...it's not like it used to be when I was growing up. Now it's money and graft and cheating...it takes the enjoyment away for me. I watch and go to the college sports events here. There's still politics but the players are there for the love of the games.
I couldn't agree more.. Funny thing is all the money he has made is peanuts compared to the entire family's wealth..He is not the only bread winner for a family of 30 I mean. Personally im happy he is staying in the AFC. Have fun in Foxboro in December when its 15 degress and snowing! Not to mention Denver's home games after November 1st!
Vicki.... I still haven't watched a single highlight from that game...I think it would feel like going CT all over again =)
Yep...if he wanted another super bowl ring he would've went to San Fran. Like he doesn't have enough money anyways. If he wasn't so greedy the Colts would've had the money to put together a decent defense and they would've won a couple super bowls. Heck, he makes around 15 million a year in endorsements alone.
For 96 million i would too.
Bmdad can sure talk about football, huh? Has he stopped yet? Wake me up when its my turn to talk...
And I'm still not over the Pats losing the Super Bowel. Yes. I know I wrote bowel.
Manning went to Denver for the money. Period.
Seems that Elway is pushing to get Tebow out of there at all cost so you may have to watch out Sara.....
Geez, it's only March and already I am excited about football...lol
Oh just wait, i am sure either the Vikings or the Raiders will pick him up! Oh wait, he is way to young!! lol
Noway will the Bears take Tebow, although they do need a backup but we need a decent backup! I think Tebow will land a starting job somewhere but won't last as the starter. What he really needs to do is try and stay with Denver. He still has so much to learn and especially when it comes to throwing the ball. Without his ability to run he would be worthless. He could learn so much being the guy that backs up Manning. Kind of like how Rogers learned so much behind Favre. I think that would be the best thing for him.
I too am surprised that the niners didn't do more to get Manning. A buddy and were talking about that at work the other night. They would've been nearly unbeatable with him. Their defense is awesome and they have a great running game. You put Manning in the mix all I can say is Wow! Denver just doesn't have enough weapons to make anything happen and Manning doesn't have enough time left in his career for them to build a strong enough team to be a super bowl contender. Then again, with Manning, anything is possible. He proved that in Indy over his career.
I'm excited to see what the Bears can do this year. They got rid of Martz which was the best thing they could do. His high flying offense does nothing but get the QB killed. Every team he ever coached had the most sacks on the QB out of the entire league. Hopefully they get back to the basics. They have a strong running game, a tough and accurate QB and now they have a go to receiver. I just hope that Brandon Marshall stays out of trouble. The Bears organization have always been really good at keeping their players in check so we will see. When Cutler and Marshall played together in Denver Marshall had over 1200 yards and 100 receptions in two seasons and they both made the pro bowl. Marshall has had over 1000 yards in each of the last 5 seasons. There are only two other players who have done the same in the last 5 years. In the last 5 years Cutler has thrown for over 3200 in 3 of them, over 4500 yards in one, and last year he threw for over 2000 yards but missed a bunch of games due to an injury. It's going to be interesting! Then again, the Packers are in the same conference. :-( There's also Detroit to worry about.
I can't wait until the season starts!
You didn't hijack the thread. That's what it is here for. The decision blew me away too and he even stated emphatically that he didn't want to play in the "cold". I'm not a Tebow fan but I think it was a huge slap in the face.
So a Pats fan huh? We need you to play our pool this year!!! We have another Pats fan around here. Vicki...come out, come out wherever you are...lol
