Valentine's Day is for both man and woman. It is a day when you reaffirm your love and commitment to each other. It doesn't require a myriad if gifts. It requires that you show an appreciation for each other that you may have forgotten due to the ups and downs of life in the workshop and the home. We tend to forget to show how much we love each other. The women especiaklly need that peck on the cheek or the smile with the words,"I love you," It doesn't take any effort to say or do these things and requires just a moment or two. I myself tend to forget but whan I realize this I am quick to reach out with a hug and a kiss and the words ,"I love you." the smile and the strong hug I receive in return is worth the effort. Siiting on the couch reach out and hold her hand. All I want in return is that smile that tells me I am still number one in her book.
I Hate Valentines day...I have been with my husband for 15 years and he never did anything on V-day....Except for when he cheated on me and did all kinds of special things for his new playtoy...Now just hearing the word Valentines Day makes me physically sick to my stomach. I will say one thing though...He better kiss my a** BIG TIME this year and I better see some diamonds and gold tomorrow.
There is a jewlery company here in Indy that is giving away silver heart lockets with chains (they are really pretty) to anyone who has either lost their job or their homes...so that is really sweet...But I still can't stand the day..lol...
Hi,
Valentine day is the special day for the all lovers.

My husband and I do for each other. We've been together 11 years so we have to plan being creative.Usually consist of somethig very romantic and se-ual My favorite is getting a room at the Hyatt ( with a whirlpool tub in room ) and get a late checkout Bring my own repared fruit and other goodies so we can feed each other.so on and so forth I've been told that the woman who gets the largest bunch of flowers has the husband who cheats,
put me on the list for a massage tooo.........
you're right... ORIGINALLY, Vday was for a man to buy gifts for his wife or GF... but as the years go by, I believe that things have changed and it it now expected for both parties to buy gifts for each other. I HATE consumerism, so I've told my man he is no longer to buy me Vday gifts; he has to make me something instead, hehe....
He treats me wonderfully all year long. I don't need a date on the calendar to tell me so... other than maybe our Anniversary date, LOL
Take care
Hmmm......so can I get an appt. on the 14??.....I'll take one as soon as one becomes available just not on April 1......lol
Nauty.........
for Valentines I normally don't get the GF or X anything but a card but on the other hand I do give them a 1-2 hour massage with aroma therapy and hot rock massage cook dinner so that is what I do. vicuser I have the massage book you need have it from occupational therapy school so if you want it.
I feel that we need to start a movement to relocate Valentines Day from Feb 14 to April 1 -
Funny you bring that up, ScaredMom.........I have noticed this year that there is no barrage of ...."show your love with a diamond" Kay Jewelers.......No "show your love with a car, boat, truck, bus.......whatever??? I find that very interesting......Not even a Hallmark commercial.......I think something is changing, and maybe for the better....OBAMA !!!
I was watching the news and hearing stories of people selling their precious heirlooms, jewelry, wedding rings etc. to pay their bills.......so sad.... I was amazed to see one of the Major Floral Empires offering to give you a deal if you bring your own vase, or they are making flowers in popsicle stick vases....lol....anyway as I type this .....am I thinking of this right, or is this a tricky marketing ploy for them?? I dunno, but i have not seen one commercial for anything .......
One really cool thing here is some jeweler in LA if you show proof that you recently lost your job.....he will give you a free diamond heart necklace w/ bracelet ....he has like 400 of them, now that's really cool........
Errrr......If I see one more commercial for the "Slap-Chop" Oiy......I want to kill that guy and I don't love his nuts.....lol..........anyone see this one.........ahhhhhhhh. I want to put his face in the "Slap-Chop".....Martini, bikini......
Nauty............
OMG...If I see one more commerical about those Vermont Bears I'm gonna scream...who wants a bear that cost $80.00, take me to dinner or give me a card...I would kill my hubby for that, go to Walmart where they are $10.00.....
Hahhaahhaaaaaaa.....Now you did bring back a pretty funny memory about the dodge ball thing. That stupid red rubber ball that they actually told us to knock each other out with?.....Well, it was dodge ball day and I decided to wear this really nice pretty large pin of my mothers.......well, I guess you can kinda see where this is going. The ball got thrown at me and within about a minute or two the ball went flat.....lmao!!! Nobody could figure out what happened but me........that's what they get for throwing it at me.....hehe
NoLongerDepressedLaughingMyAssOff.......Nauty........
I am pretty sure the teachers made you bring Valentines for everyone in your class.......now perhaps yours were too small to see, but I am sure they were in there somewhere.......oops unless you had a hissy fit on the way back to your desk and they fell out!! hahahaha
Not that I would say or even think for a minute you were a sassy *** little girl at school but you seriously never had the tether ball whacked along your head, or the red "play ground ball" bounced off your legs, or thrown at your back? OMG could it be that I was more mean than you??!! And gosh I thought that meant those dirty little boys had a crush on me!! Well back to Valentine's Day, they were the ones that gave me the biggest cheap "card from the box"! And all this time they just felt guilty??
Now I am depressed!!
Disillutioned and Memories now destroyed by NautyOne.... boohoo sniffsniff
I never got any Valentines from my classmates.......whaaaaaaaaa why did you have to bring up that horrible memory.........I really forgot about that.
Now I'm depressed...........:-((((
SadAndScaredByTorturedMemoriesByLateAugust.......ty..........
Hey Nauty I need to read back and see how you are doing, I am sure you are sick of answering that question..... still hoping you are doing well tho!! my best to you.
Well, you certainly have a lot to choose from in the "Valentinsey Gift" department.....lol. If you haven't used them all up already......hahhaa......
I've been working hard on popping out the "clones" before Valentine's Day.....it hard work.......lol. I have a lot of male friends and a few female one's that will appreciate them.......:-)))))~~~~~~~Nauty
I view Valentine's Day much like Halloween..... I think it is a great holiday and so much fun, but for children. For me, not so much! Remember how fun it was to make those big ole hearts made out of construction paper than we hung on the wall or our desk in the classroom? Or the embarassment when the boy that hit you with the soccer ball also gave you the biggest Valentine card from his batman collection? I remeber Valentine's day with great memories from my childhood and when watching my children, hearing their laughter of going thru their cards with their friends.
And besides I am too high maintenance....ordering me flowers is a gift I don't like.....way too easy and no imagination.
I love the holiday to be celebrated with the innocense of children.
Question is, Who is your Valentine?
It has to be for each other.
we both do v day he has always been good with it and i love getting him things all the time .
I'm with you on Mother's Day! I can't bring myself to go to Church on that day because they make a big deal out of it (which it should be), but not being able to have children, it's just too emotional for me!
my hubby, God bless him, is the most UNROMANTIC person i've ever met. i HATE valentine's day...maybe because i am jealous of all the lovers of the world. (i hate mothers day even more...ggggrrrrr)
my hubby always said Valentine's day was made up by hallmark just so men would have to spend extra money on their wifes...I alway just give him a card, or if my gift is really nice,,,myself...lmfao...so nauty I don't know exactly what a woman would get her hubby that is Valentiney except a card, or you in a sexy nighty meeting him at the door., my luck he would bring home a friend that night. lol
