Here's a topic

I just wanted to toss this out there regarding single father's who are raising their child or children as a single parent. I for one have had custody of my 14 year old since she was my lil baby girl who would tell Daddy she "loves him wit all her hawt.. and here were are at 14 years old and she is quite the young lady I prayed she'd be............. Now it looks like I will go for at least 50% if not the whole nut in the shell for my youngest sweet heart...... These girlies are the reason I still wake up in the morning the reason why I am attempting at a clean and sober life free of drugs and alcohol of course at least for me it is that way. For me one is just as bad as the other just alcohol finishes me a faster than drugs. Anyway I am so used to dealing with the people who are ignorant to the fact that a male can raise his children without the help of a woman. I have been to places or in the begining for instance registering my daughter for school and I am always asked where is her Mother why do you have custody and if I have to say because I just do one more time I wil spray paint the answer on the desk just so they dont forget it and pass it along to the next deck jockey. Nothng against desk Jockeys I was one for a few hundred years. I remember in 96 I used to train at a gym in the city and they never had a changing table or daycare provided for the father's with their children I complained and they started to change the rules regarding daycare and male members. Now days u see those changing tables every so whomever rallied those in their my hat's off to ya........... Yeah I just wanted to throw something regarding this reverse chauvenist attitude.......... Dads raise their children as well.

Good for you!  And shame on anyone for giving you such ignorant lip!  My ex and I have tried to maintain joint in most everything with the divorce.  Just because he wasn't the best husband for me, has absolutely nothing to do with his parenting abilities what so ever.  He's a good dad and always has been.  Children need that kind of support, and yes especially daughters from their fathers.  Believe me I know, I had the absent dad who lived up the street.  Yes, that took quite a bit of emotional toll on me over the years.  I personally know several situations in which men are raising children.  Either due to the mom being absent, or because she works hours which make her not home while the family is.  My hats are off to all of them because they do a wonderful job at it and do it with a smile...everyday!  Don't you dare let such idiodic "old way" thinking hinder you one bit!

Two thumbs up to you!!! It's a shame that the world can be so sexist esp. with who should be raising the kids these days.....I've heard of many, many father's taking care of thier own with the mom either working, sick or sadly in rehab or relapsing. My cousin is a single father of 3 children, I commend you for loving your little girl...sometimes "father knows best"!
