emotional withdrawals?

i'm brand new to this forum, i joined because i'm quitting smoking weed and having a really hard time due to the fact that it's been my mental stability for 2 years.

obviously, i don't have to deal with the physical withdrawals that you guys have to get through, but my emotional withdrawals are unbelievable.  i've been at work for 4 hours now and haven't gotten much more done than copying & pasting a single paragraph, because i'm an emotional wreck.  i've either spent the time crying, talking to my friend for support, or on this forum, but no matter what it's all my craziness coming out and bothering me.

now i don't mean to say that you guys have it easy, i know it's like 1000 times harder quitting opiates & stuff, but it seems like emotionally you guys are so much stronger than me.  how???  i'm only quitting weed and i can't even function.  i know that my mental stability is bad...but do you think i'm actually TOO unstable to quit?  the reason i sincerely wonder is because my instability isn't part of the withdrawals, it's simply uncovered when i'm sober.  i guess what i'm really asking, is, for all of you that are making it, are you naturally mentally stable?  is there anyone as crazy as me that can do it?

Welcome to the forum,,,

Weed smokers are very welcome here and it can be very hard to stop smoking...

Any drug will start to change the part of your brain that control emotions and how your react with your emotions towards different situations...

You brain is coming back and repairing itself.....it will also miss the weed.....

Weed is no choke......do you know what schedule weed is and the other drugs with it....
Weed is a schedule one drug along with Heroin and Cocaine....

Weed is a drug (THC) and is addictive.....

When you stop using your go on an emotional rollercoaster......it happens....

Hang in there........

SWEETHEART~ PLEASE BELIEVE ME when I tell you NOBODY on this board is emotionally stable. Hence the addictions. The physical symptoms are a *****, honestly, from where I am right now, 5 days clean, my emotions are completely out of wack. I have been where you are and the ability to stop smoking pot is just as hard mentally as any other drug i have ever abused. You just have to keep reminding yourself what and why you are doing this. You are obviously a strong person, you are headed in the right direction, my offer of wisdom is to keep on keepin on. You are the same person you where with the dope in your system, just a whole lot more alert and focused. Tell yourself ever hour, "I AM 1 Hour cleaner than I was 2 hrs ago." YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

EVERYBODY cries, allow yourself to FEEL, nothing you are feeling is wrong. All of this anxiety is normal. Tommorrow will be easier, be proud of every moment you do not smoke. LOVE YOURSELF, you are your own best friend.

Bethany...I just want to start off by saying that I am f'ing crazy too. haha. I too am quiting weed now.  I am quiting hydrocodones (an opiate), klonopin (a benzodiazepine), and, finally, WEED too.
Okay and here's what I have to say to you. I think that weed is addictive. And I have been on some serious stuff. It may be a mental addiction but an addiction non the less. I have tried quiting weed before in the past many times, unsucsesfully.
I think that you can do it. I was on the klonopin because of panic attacks or whatever they are. And I agree with you, some of these people seem so strong and have alot of faith in God. I think that helps with them a lot and that's great. I am not so lucky.
Do you have a reason that you want to quit weed? How often did u smoke? You can always write back with any questions or anything. I'm going through the same things right now, and have seen it all.

good luck.

Dan
