Another victory

It seems I have been dealing with so many things the last few days since I have decided to become clean forever.
I have run into some walls but also have made some progress.
Little things mean so much.
I went to the corner store and who is in there but one of my old dealers.  He is the brother of the guy who phoned me the other night and they used to fight over who was supplying me.  They didn't get along lol.
They used to talk about each other to me but I didn't care as long as one of them had percs.
I saw him before I went in and thought, Oh no, he is going to offer me some.
Long story short when I left he followed me out..  I said, hello and he asked how I was.  I told him I was getting clean.  He said, congrats it's really hard and then told me he was clean.
He looked so good.  We both discussed how hard it was and how good it was to be clean.
I didn't ask if he was still dealing.  I didn't want to know.  I just wanted him to know, I was done.
Another door closed.  I can't believe how many people I bought drugs from.
There is only 1 other person I have to worry about right now and I am really surprised I haven't heard from him.
Maybe he is in jail or something.

How funny that we keep talking about "doors" and closing them?? huh?
(I mean, you and me....and closing doors)

Just wanted to mention that when one door closes, another one opens (or at least a window.....hahahah)

And this time, you're not going "around it", or "over it" or "under it", YOU BE GOIN THROUGH IT!!!!!  That'll work for sure!!!

That will be nice to hear lol.  I know I have looked like hell this last little while.  I haven't touched make up in forever.
I know it's still going to take awhile but I am really looking forward to all the good things that come with getting clean.

Pat what a great victory! :) so glad you ran into one of your suppliers and you got to see how good he looked and your right that will be you and people will notice you look better trust me:)
I have people tell me all the time you look great what have you done different I just smile they just look and say its your complexion no its your hair hmm I just smile it feels great!

My overflow (after scripts) guy on the street isn't an addict.  He's clean, but he is a guy my hubby used to work with years ago.  He has called since I have been clean and praised me highly!!  He also has offered my retired hubby a job (which we need $ desperately).  God really has a sense of humor, too!  I just love WEIRD!!

What a diff a day makes???  Keep climbin' you're doing SO good!!

Same to you and I bet he wanted it to.  You never know. Maybe you got him thinking.  I know I wanted to be clean for so long while I was using.
I am sure there are a lot of people walking around feeling the same way.

Nice story Pat. I too ran into an old dealer the other day. I got the sense that he wanted what I had (clean). I didn't say much...just tried to set a good example by just...being. It felt good :)  Congrats on your clean time!

oh girl you will!!  we will look back few weeks from now and say wow!!  we look good!!  if i had the courage i'd take a pic of myself now to remind myself how bad i looked going thru WD....maybe that would help if i got weak...lol..i can already tell i'm lost a few lbs...just feel thinner and clothes feel looser..
