I guess I have not been completely honest. I should have from the beginning. While I was prescribed pain meds, it was tylenol 3. Being an addict, my dr only have me 2 5.500 lortab to be taken at night. I wd in alot of pain, so I'd go through a script in a week. So, I asked for tylenol 3, and she gave it to me. That didn't quite do it, so id buy hydro, and if desperate oxy, percs. I justified it because I really had severe pain. And the fact that I only art my worst took 4 10/ 325 in one day, 4-6 hours apart. I literally have away most if my t3, because they did nothing. Called them my water pills cuz I may a well had been drinking water, didn't do nothing. Before my pain started, I used pills recreationally, obviously I liked them. When I got pregnant, I cut ties with my people, and was stuck with the t3's. They did nothing for the wd of the vikes, except for dragging them out. I stored the vikes weeks ago, with the exception of the dsy if the funeral. So almost 2 weeks from vikes, but 6 days no vikes, t3, anything. I kno I lied because I am pregnant. My dr doesn't kno I was taking anything but the t3. I feel like crap lying, but there ya go.

Ann funny you say that, because I should have had ac-section with the first. After 3 hours if pushing, basically no pain meds, finally my hip popped and out she came. My hip finally, I think, went back into place, only because I'm pregnant and the ligaments loosened. After I had my daughter, they tightened and the to and bottom if my right hip was off almost 2 inches. after my mri was when they gave me meds because they had proof, said they had never seen it so bad. As for the vikes in my system, they gave me a couple a few weeks ago, sure to complications with the steriod injections I got. I fought for over a year to get anything for my pain doing it the right way, and the reason? Cuz I used to smoke pot, and I was honest with my doc. She has been my doc since the first time I saw her, and she said I was pregnant, 3 years ago. I'm sure I will busty out and come clean, cuz I usually do, but not sure. Most she would probably do is ua me randomly. I'm fearful, because my doc said about 4 months ago to have kids now, cuz the pain is only going to get worse. Theoretically, being pregnant could have fixed the big problem, leaving me with arthritis from having bone on bone.  Anyways, dr will monitor baby being I was on the t3, and because I had injections right before getting pregnant, and your supposed to wait set least a month. If telling doc about the vikes will help my baby, I'm all for that.

Why would they not give you anything for pain (during delivery) if you told them about the vicodin?  You are sure they can't give you an epidural?  If you are really small there is a chance you won't be able to have a regular delivery.

It won't matter if YOU'RE clean, unfortunately it all depends on the amniotic fluid, which is what they test after delivery, and the meconium. Now, if you deliver at 40wks and have been clean as long as you say, chances are they won't pick anything up. But many times, the tests are sensitive enough to pick up traces of drugs from 20-30wks prior to delivery...so if you delivery at 35, 36 wks..you could still get caught and you DON'T want that.

They cannot deny you adequate pain relief while delivering, this I promise you. they HAVE to adequately medicate you. I've known many addicts who went into labor and were given all the pain medicine they asked for, because labor is a different animal than normal pain and doctors will get their butts sued off if they don't adequately provide pain relief for a laboring woman.

I know you're afraid of CPS getting involved, but I think you run a much greater risk of that if you don't tell your doctor than if you do.

it's up to you, of course, but I would tell my doctor. At this point it's less about you getting in trouble, and more about them being able to keep an eye on the baby. Heavy use of just about any drug during the first trimester requires extra monitoring, and while narcotics don't generally cause problems to a developing fetus, it's still not something to play around with.

ok so you have been 6 days without anything? and the only symptom left is the sweats?  The vomiting is most likely the pregnancy.  I hope you are staying hydrated.

Hey sweetie I'm also glad that you came out with this, and I agree 100% with gnarly.

You have to be 100% honest with your OB about what happened; you won't get in trouble for honesty, but you might get caught if you aren't completely honest and THAT would mean a lot of trouble.

A lot of women doubt me when I say that, but I've spoken to more women than I can count who were int he same situation (or similar to) as you and the best thing in every circumstance was when they were honest with their OB about everything. I have yet to hear of a woman whose child was taken away if they were honest, but several horror stories where women were caught after they weren't honest.

Just be honest...this was a great first step!!! I'm proud that you decided to tell everyone what was really going on, and you should be proud too that you took this first step.

Best of luck to you, and please speak with your OB- he or she is going to be your best friend through all of this. All he/she wants is a healthy you and a healthy baby, so honesty is always the best policy.

I'm only 9 wks 5 days pregnant. Meds will be our if my system by my next appt. If I tell my doctor, I will be forced to have this baby with nothing for pain. Im 26 but the size if a 12 year old. They can't get the epidural in. the drug test all babies at my hospital, but no worries if I'm clean. I CANNOT get involved with CPS. I'm sooo close to finally getting custody of my 7 and 8 year old nieces. I never hid my vicodin habit to anyone except my dr, and the cps worker for my nieces. if I don't get them, they wool be put up for adoption, as their parents lost all rights to them. I'm the only family member that can take them, besides my cousin that is taking their brother, neither can take all three, and she won't take my nephew if I don't get the girls. Anyways, I dont quite kno what to do with my doc. It us a horrible thing when you are in the er, screaming in pain, and the dr looks arty you and says you need to suffer, because your sm addict. Not even a shot of torodal, which was alk I wanted. That was before I even got my doc to give me anything.

HI our secrets keep us sick so its good you got this out....you need to tell you obgyn whats been going on they will test the baby and your blood opon delevey any surprises and CPS gets involved as long as your honest all should be fine let us know how this all turns out for you....good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
