Hi Rhea! have you ever heard of PAWS? It's Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome. It could be some of what you're experiencing now. You can get those feelings of depression & being on the roller coaster. The symptoms reach a peak 3-6 months after we get clean. And ANY use of drugs OR alcohol, even in small quantities will erase any improvements we have gained. There are a TON of symptoms & not everyone experiences them. Also know that the symptome can come & go for years. Yes I said years.
It does NOT take 3 to 5 months to come off of Methadone. That is bad information lady, please don't listen to it.
I am sorry no one answered you, often members just don't have the answer and therefore don't respond. In this case I can understand. I think you would get more of a response if you posted in the Anxiety Forum and again, spoke with your doctor. I know it is disheartening but you have to hang on until the correct medication is found. This is not unusual. Please hang in there and keep talking and keep up the good fight!!
Coming of drugs and then being on Methadone is tough stuff. It can take many months (i think 3-5) to start feeling normal again. You are also moody because you are off your DOC. Coming off drugs causes depression and if you already have a history of depression I can imagine it could get worse. This is something you should talk to your doctor about because I am not a psych doctor. Good luck and keep us posted.
