Three years ago when I was in wd

I came to med help three years ago .I was in my second or third day of wd I was alone nobody new about my problem it was a few days before Easter and a few days before my sons birthday too .I was a mess crying all of the time . I was so depressed .I put something in search for help with wds it lead me here to medhelp.I was so lucky I posted I really did not except much A half an hour later I looked back at my post and there were posts telling me I was not alone and they would help me threw .Lizzie was that first and she has stuck by me for the whole time I have been here .Med help helped me threw some very dark days.I relapsed six months later because I had not gotten any aftercare nobody made me feel bad or as if I had failed they helped me get right back on track. I got recovery care  and here I am now with 2 1/2 years clean .I have a whole family here that I know if I fell tomorrow they would help pick me back up .Thank you everyone for making this place a supportive safe place to get help. So if you are new your not alone if you are scared its ok we will help you threw .

Your support here is amazing!! Thank you so much for all that you do.

Avisg - congrats congrats congrats.  You are a true mentor and inspiration to me.. All that clean time is amazing.  You were one of the first to help me too, many moons ago when I joined MH.   Thank you for being such an incredible leader here.  I know it must be hard to find the time all the time, but you are always here for us.  Much love Avisg.

Hey avis :)  You were there for me when I went through my first withdrawals, crying, thinking I was going to DIE!  I remember what you said, and I calmed down alot.  I made it for like a month or so, then of course, when the pills are right next door and someone is giving them to you, well, I relapsed, but was not afraid to say it.  I don't know that I would have done that without you, and some other wonderful people here who gave me the courage to stand up against addiction.  I went to Houston yesterday and looked into some NA meetings there, but I still need a vehicle to get to one.  Workn on it!!  Don't give up on me yet lol...i know you won't.

This place is my way of dealing with my addiction, working through it every day and trying to help others in any way I can.  If I can touch just one person, then I feel I have done well.  Paying it forward, always have lived that way.  God smiles on those people :)  and I feel his smile on me too :)

Thank you for being here and helping so many.  You really give very good advice, you admonish when it is needed, but you are never pushy.  That keeps people coming..

God bless you Avisg.  Love you girl xoxoxoxo

Avis you have been there for so many people including me,I joined Sept 09,I've lost count of all the good advice you have given me,but it stays with me,especially the way you've hounded me about aftercare,I realise now like everyone else I do need it.It would be so easy to have a drink or take the codeine, believe it or not I really miss the alcohol and I nearly caved but I woke up to myself and reminded myself of the liver damage.I'm glad I've got a good therapist.

Thank You Avis from the bottom of my heart   Denise

Avis...I'm thankful for YOU and happy you're clean for so long now.  Lizzie is like the forum Mom;I'm glad she was(is)there for you;for everyone.

This IS a safe place, where we can be free to speak our worst fears and laugh at ourselves at the same time.  It's very special.

All the best to everyone~

Thanks.  I may need to talk.  I never know from one day to the next how I will feel tomorrow, so I just try to stay in today!!!  I have detoxed off of many pills over 15 years, and tram was the WORST!  By far!  The "non addicting" one..........HA!
