Fioricet Withdrawal/taper

Will the Thomas Detox Recipe work for firoicet w/d?  I'm been taking rioricet for a very long time-20 years.  Dr's at this end of the world just keep giving it to me and I've done enough reading to know it's a bad thing.  I've tried to stop C/T, but the headached & neck pain are to much too deal with.  Any help will be greatly appreacited. (like maybe a taper dose)

Thanks so much for responding.  I was at work when I posted earlier, so completely understand.  I realized I didn't know exactly how much foricet I was taking, so I've started writing it down, along w/the time of day.  I've noticed a pattern.  The very early mornings are the worst - I've been sleeping (in a rather flat position) and I can't breath through my nose at all.  I've made a appointment w/a sinus doc & I've cut my pills into quarters.  I've tried taking 1 3/4 tab at a time today, but most often I've gone back for the other piece.  Tonight, I'm going to take my 1 3/4 fioricet, sudephed and a motrin.  I'm headed to the healthfood store for your recommended supplements.  The lack of energy is a real kick in the pants but I think if I was on the F's & could breath through my nose, I might get more rest. Your taper seems alot slower and more do-able. Thanks so much.

I would say that you start by cuting a half every month that is how I did it. I'm at 3/1/2 pills a day still It has been hard I take Exedering in between If I have to this helps with the headaches. Also I take multi vitamins my b12s and CoQ10 1-Carnitine fumarate this really helps with energy.I was at 20 pills a day but thank God no more it has been almost a whole year and taking it really slow to get my mind and body back to normal any ?s email me. I've been taking alot lately-maybe 10-12 tabs/day.  The doc that I last saw for detox gave me  a scrip for 200/month & wanted to put me on morphine (among other things) & has recently lost her license.  I an so glad I didn't follow her advise.  Most of the doc's here don't think fioricet is a problem drug, so they just write a script & tell me not to worry. When I was diagonsed w/ fibromyalgia in 1992 I came home w/ a shopping bag full of meds.  I have tapered off everything but the fioricet.  The headaches & neck pain are really difficult to deal with.  I keep looking for help-even alternative medicine (they know me on a first name basis at the health food store). I know that most of the headached now are rebound.  Imitres works, but the day after, the  pain comes back 10x worse.  I know I can tape the amount of fioricet I'm using if I have a plan worked out, but I haven't been able to find anything on how much to ruduce the fioricet or how fast.  I also know that some supplements would help, but which ones?   I have to detox or taper at home, my insurance won't cover inpatient treatment.  I've gone to aa/na meetings, but since I don't take fioricet for fun, I haven't gotten much help there.  Do you have any advise or insight?

I just read where you posted that you were taking like 6 tabs a day...I take it is without codeine..Which means it is really the barb, u have to worry about..With taking it that many yrs, barbs, can cause death with c/t...I think you need a doctor on this one...only my opinon,...but we are here to help you, i think there are some here with the same thing..

I also wanted to tell you that i have also taking this, as i suffer from migranes..Imitrex works best for me, but i know it is very expensive...they have just came out with a generic, that is sooo much cheaper...but i would think u are having rebound headaches..
