Getting out of hand

Hi guys. I have recently managed to stop all drug and alcohol use (with the help of antabuse for drinking) and about 9 months ago i began taking tylenol 1's.
I now have a habit of taking over a thousand a month, and i don't know where to go from here.  I do take out the acetaminophen in the T1's, so i know that is good, but i am needing more and more, and my dreams are getting crazy as well.  Any advice?  Thanks

Hell no, no methadone! I'm at day 24 coming off that crap. I know they tout it as some kind of wonder drug to use in place of other opiates but that stuff grabs you by your soul right down to the bone marrow. It has a long half/life (good for keeping heroin addict from getting sick) which makes the withdrawal quite long. It was 12 days before I began to start to feel barely better. The original formula was concocted by Hitler's doctors to keep injured men on the battlefield. So you see, it came right out of the pit of hell!
I've had 2 back surgeries and the doctor put me on it. I've been dealing with that beast since.Withdrawal is not possible to avoid, at some level. Weather you have the discipline to taper down first (I did from 80mg a day to 10mg over 3 weeks) or not I don't know but it's not going to be a walk in the park. You may need medical help. You should choose a time when you do have at least 3 to 4 days without a lot of stuff on your plate. I was in between bed and the bathroom for the first 3 days. There are several things you can do to make it tolerable. I'll post then later this morning for you.
I'm heading to an AA mtg. gotta run, I'll check back n about 2 hrs.

Hi gnarly_1 thanks for the reply.
Here's the thing,, i have been out of school for more or less ten years, and i just managed to get in to a college program last week and it starts in 2 days, so i don't want to blow this.  I am 31 but my parents (bless their hearts) have paid tuition and first/last rent in a new city for me, and i have blown so many other opportunities at getting my life on track efore.  So, school has to go forward at all costs,   so  should i just go on a maintenance program??  either self controlled or a seek methadone? Im not sure.  Thanks
